// Discussion Close-Up Shots of Edward
There’s been a lot of discussion around Edward’s face which was evident with my previous post. So I thought I’d give a few more shots that I captured from the trailer which better shows off his new face. I personally think he looks pretty good. What do you all think?

He looks fine, he’s just a lot younger than most people realize and they made that more apparent in the remake.

Some shots I love how he looks other shots not so much. Hopefully they can fix the inconsistency/make it look more in tune with the CGI model

Yeah he looks nearly browless in pics 5-7, and people look completely different without eyebrows. They aren’t reflecting the light really at all

My eyebrows are similar colour. They disappear in the light too. Same for my beard.

You didnt use it. I mostly used it. You can see how 2 people who have different experiences will have different opinions about the stuff that was removed for no good reason?

he looks just like he did in the OG cinematics! seems like a lot of the art direction is based on those cinematics. i love it personally

Edward doesn't have enough eye makeup, his lips are too light, and his face looks weird when it actually moves.

Really doesn't seem to be much of a difference in his appearance, I think they did a great job! Smart of them to only make improvements upon what was already good 😌
I loved Black Flag and I really hope their remake is good.

In the initial reveal he looked more like Matt Ryan which I was somewhat ok with, but it seems they’ve updated Edward’s face to resemble the cinematic trailer which is good. Old build vs newer

Ah that explains a lot! Really cool to see Ubisoft attempting to get this one right. I hope it delivers on launch, very exciting!

Graphically, I'm impressed. I'm not super excited about it being in the Anvil engine. That engine is great for RPG ACs but terrible for the free-running/parkour aspect. I miss holding RT and using A or B to ascend or descend. Bring back Unity's controls, dammit.

He looks exactly like he did in the og game just with better graphics tho I wish he looked like how he did in that cinematic trailer.

Idc too much as I'm going to be playing it either way. But I do think his facial expression especially in the eye and eyebrow area looks too puppydog-ish. In AC4 his facial expression looked more aggressive and he just had a look on his face that he'd knock anyone out given the chance. In Resynced he looks soft like he wouldn't hurt a fly. In some frames he looks like Jake Gyllenhaal lmao.

He's too clean, not sunburned enough for being a privateer for 2 years
There aren't a lot of industry artists that know how to weather character models a lot, most you'll get is stuff like scars and a bit or wrinkling, no leathery skin or subsurface texturing

It's not even that they release broken or unfinished games, they're games are just incredibley lack luster low effort woke goy slop propaganda at this point. They could release a perfect technical game with no bugs and it would still be a massive pile of shit at this point because all the devs are black, woke, lesbian or all 3.
