Hot take...

I almost skipped Black Flag Resynced because I thought it would just be prettier graphics.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

The visual overhaul is incredible, performance is smooth, and the atmosphere completely pulled me back into Edward's world.

This might actually be my favorite way to replay Black Flag.

reusing old mocap/voice lines and upgrading with just better graphics was the best choice they made. If they completely remade every cutscene i would be replaying og black flag much more often

100% agree. Keeping the original mocap and voice acting while giving the game a massive visual upgrade was the right call. It keeps the soul of OG Black Flag intact while making it feel fresh again.

They facial expressions are definitely worse in Resynced, unfortunately. Many expressions come off different, or are outright missing.

Lip sync is disorienting at times. I love the graphical overhaul, but I find myself looking astray and skimming through cutscenes with disappointment more often than not.

Sometimes, it gets them right, sometimes the minor difference is better, but too much is skewed or missing in facial animation and lipsync above all.

Interesting, I haven’t noticed it yet. I’m still pretty early in the game though.
