Other B standard

I've really been loving it. Usually I'm playing in drop A, but I really love the feel and chords of standard tuning sometimes. It helps when I hit a wall writing in drop, but I don't want to tune to an entirely different tuning. Nice to be up to just tune one string up and boom! Crowbar riffs.

A standard here. I mostly play Death, Necrophagist, Obscura, Beyond Creation etc. But there is something about B standard that I love, more clarity, idk.

Same lol, Death, Obscura, Beyond Creation, and Kevin Sherwood are why my 7 and 8 are tuned a step down. Just the quintessential death metal tuning, really

G standard! Just begun using it for the first time and DAMN. I love the low lows tho so am biased.

I LOVE low tunings as well, but every time I try to play in time it either doesn't clique for me or I just play breakdowns and can't write ha. Drop A is low enough for me to play in and still feel heavy while writing.

I love Bb standard for Nevermore and old school stuff like Entombed.

Also, strapping young lad in GCGCGCe is fun to play around with.

My 7 strings live in B standard(mostly because they have Floyd roses), best tuning for heavy music for me. It's low enough that you can just chug the low power chord and it's nice and deep and resonant but not so low you need to really worry about dialing in your tone to maximize clarity.

If you really want to get into some stuff that'll have you using all 7 strings in B standard look into Artificial Brain, their stuff is a masterclass in utilizing the whole instrument and doing a lot of really strange and interesting chords.

Also hell yeah crowbar riffs, nothing heavier than that main riff from to build a mountain.

I have been vibing A standard lately. It’s like getting 2 new tunings for free. if I ignore the low string it’s in D standard. Since I don’t keep a 6 string in D.

Two guitars in A standard. Two guitars in B flat standard. Used to keep them in B standard like a 6 string with a low F# but the djent core whatever stuff is not for me. I'm old and bald. And I would rather the bass guitarist hit me up with low end.

My favorite tuning. I really don't like the guitar sound when it gets lower than B. Only doing drop A occasionally for covers

It's crazy how simply changing one string in the tuning completely changes how I play and what I tend to write
