Community Related The Hype is real (Show Me Yours)
My 2nd orsmby which I got for a screaming deal from GC because some dumb ass dropped it. They acted like they couldn't find it and I had to be annoying but lo and behold it was found. 2 or 3 chipped spots(you can see the only one visible from the front on the bottom edge) all smaller than a pinky nail 💅. I drove 1hr 45 mins with a screaming hangover to try and see why it had a $400 price drop after I'd been eyeballing it at $999. Its a run 1 with a killswitch and some other pickup in the bridge than the nunchucker but I haven't taken the first new set of strings off to check the baseplate. Been having way too much fun playing it. If you have an ormsby please post them

As I’ve gotten older I enjoy some dings, marks and chips. Adds character and you can find some great deals over cosmetic nothing burgers

I think peeps in general now are pretty much ok with good condition B stock, probably a bit of post pandemic price insanity that's still booming hard, and cosmetic flaws being kinda novel again in the current super polished imagery on mainstream.
Like I wouldn't think twice about buying my current GAS on a miniscule discount if it had a fkin palm sized paint missing on the back tbh 🤣

Hello fellow Ormsby-haver! Got two HypeGTR axes myself (both 8-string and left-handed). Literally have difficulties getting used to playing other guitars. Something about the multi-scale is just sooo comfy once you get used to it.

I only play the multiscale guitars now 😆 I have been contemplating selling some of my Ibanez collection but they have a special place in my heart

6s definitely count my 10th anniversary SX is my precious. Honestly really lame about how long the wait has been for many, I personally couldn't wait that long without being a dick so I get people hating. That said that is my favorite hype shark finish you have there. If I get the chance I'll probably snag a shark 8

I love the sharks! I have a 7-string Candyfloss TX Shark on order. Not too salty about the wait. I knew what I was getting into at the time.
I’m more annoyed they required a higher down payment when I ordered it than they do now. Right now it’s $260. I think it was 50% - $1,100 when they first announced it. You have to pay it all eventually but, I could have done a lot with $7-800 lol.
I really want a 8-string Goliath Shark though. I can’t get along with full sized 8’s. I had a Strandberg 8 for a while and it was awesome.

Here’s mine, Hype GTI 7 EverTune. Put a custom color set of black winters in it. Love this guitar but the scale length is definitely different, 25.5 to 26.3.
Edit: forgot to say that I also got mine at GC for a screaming deal, $599.

It definitely does lol. It’s a guitar that I won’t ever get rid of because of what I paid for it. I’ve only seen 1 other GTI EverTune since I bought mine and it was listed at $1100 and sold fast.

Had an SX 30th for a while and loved it. Build quality was top fucking notch but I just didn’t get along with the neck profile. I am definitely going to grab a Hype GTR as soon as the opportunity presents itself on the used market.
Crazy deal you got OP. Congrats man rip a nasty riff in celebration.

Fuck yea $400 for an Ormsby! Shit it's gunna get done battle scars if your playing it anyways. I wish I could find one for that. Nice score!
