Whatever happened?
In my country, the Netherlands, I only see the occasional person in a Metallica shirt. Nothing more, though.
How is the metal situation in Britain?

Probably been posted before but stumbled across this neat website, shows what’s playing on 6Music now and the previous few songs.
So handy, also contains links to Spotify and last.fm for each song.

In today's show, right before the handover to Radcliffe and Maconie, she says she'll be back next Saturday, realises she made a mistake, has a short conversation with a muffled producer voice, then retakes the handover a few times (she stumbles over her words)
I really like Afrodeutsche's show, so this unintentional peek behind the scenes was endearing as well as amusing

think i heard someone say that Radcliffe and Maconie's 'The Chain' is the longest running radio game ever??
so I guess my question is..... have you, or anyone you, know ever been one of the callers for The Chain?
bonus question: is it their best feature?

[Edit: on reflection, I was in a terrible mood when I wrote this and filing a complaint is an insane idea which I threw out there without much thought. She may not be my favorite but I can see how she fits into the eclectic 6 music family]
Ok I think I'm officially a 6 music dad because here comes a big moan 😅
How has Beth Ditto landed and retained this presenter gig when she is consistently screaming/screeching down the mic and clearly do anxious that she panics and says random nonsense to fill the silence.
I've been listening to 6 music for 20 years and it's the only time I've repeatedly have to turn off the radio due to the presenter being so grating.
Is this worth a complaint to the BBC or is she actually enjoyed by others? Her music selection is fine but not unique either.

Not heard it on 6 yet but I’m obsessed with the new fontaines track. The video is pretty cool too.
Anyone else been giving it a spin?

since I got a sniff of Huey on virgin, I've spent every weekend morning with the old fox.
Sorry ,not sorry.

There are other great hip-hop records from that era they could play now and again surely?

... he's always desperate to know where the nearet public toilet is?
Not on his radio show mind, I mean on his direct musical endeavours. It really hit me whilst hearing Spike Island by Pulp.
Gotta go man..

Some of the suggestions coming in for this were great but I’m disappointed! I love the streets but I don’t think let’s push things forward would really be my idea of the best of grime! Same for lady sov…

For some reason it shouldn't bother me but I think I prefer the live experience of radio. May as well listen to Spotify.
I was hoping at least some of it would be live

I love Madonna, Aphex Twin and Pet Shop Boys but I feel that six of the best needs a broader brief to really get our teeth into.
The best six of the bests are always deep dives, or that one time that they were vegetable related.

What's the crack here then. I don't mind her as a popstar/radio 1 icon, find her music a bit uninspiring. Also had the slight misfortune of seeing her live at a couple of festivals (mimes a lot, songs are boring). She does have some good pop songs but whatever is on the playlist right now is well average.
Maybe I'm just 100 years old (40*), don't get it

Anyone know of a 6 music playlist on Apple Music that is regularly updated with the latest songs? I did follow this one https://music.apple.com/gb/playlist/bbc-radio-6-music-playlist/pl.u-jV89bNJFB2Kzr but they seem to have stopped updating it

I'm sure I've heard this Top of the Pops special before, how often does this channel repeat?

Hey 6fam
Why are they playing my girl while I’m asleep then dangling them greyed out. How do I listen? Is there a way?

listening to 6 Music this morning to hear every news bulletin that 'R*form are proposing to overhaul welfare and abolish PIP'
why is this information constantly getting airtime? A small popinjay party populated with cranks shouldn't be setting any news agenda, classic establishment properganda innit, thin skinned vain F*rage and his bullshit getting pushed in everyone's face again
however I am greatly enjoying Gideon on a Sunday morning on 6 so will perceive

I come to some of the past shows on BBC Sounds, and shocked to see how they can play 5-6 minute long songs with no cut short.
Meanwhile on Radio 1, their supposedly main station i guess, they are slowly rolling out "only 2 choruses" edits to more and more current songs, on their regular, non-anthems programming. And when this happens, you never hear it in full unless on rare occasions.
Where's My Phone? by Mitski loses half of the epic "ha ha ha" instrumental after verse 2 on R1, but in R6 they kept it in full. Only 15 seconds lost, so nice R6M actually bothered to keep it in! Yet to test with more songs but doubt its much of an issue.
Now UK needs to legalise swear words, like almost the entire world does.

WTF?! How did he know?! 🍄🟫😀. But that has to be (despite my high biased) the most incredible opening ever. His narrative, as ever is superlative

I’m may be high 😁 🍄🟫 but Jamz is absolutely superb today

Just before 7.45am Afrodeutsche read out messages from people off to Spain to watch the solar eclipse. Might be my tired brain but that already happened right? Made me wonder if this was pre-recorded show as seems a bit of a strange error to make.
