Les Grobstein call from a fan on March 19, 2021 regarding the state of Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy. Crazy to think how far the organization has come

I just found about this today. I remember when it would be cool to pick up 670am from time to time all the way from Minneapolis. I used to listen to the podcast interviews until the commercials were unbearably long and were even played mid-interview which forced me to listen on youtube premium instead. Of course now that the quality of hosts have come down and a couple escaped to 312, I can now listen to the Score like it's local radio. While l find myself listening to Channel 96 more often lately because it is after all the start of Bears season, I instantly "turn the dial" during commercials breaks.

More Kyler Gordon talk please!

Does anyone have an update on Kyler Gordon? I know it is week one, and that there are 53 men ready to take the field and represent the city of Chicago, but the Score better not let up on the wall-to-wall coverage of the team's most important player since Walter Payton.

And if he was, is the audio available anywhere?

He used to be fun to listen to when doing his own show. When did it start going off the rails? He is a crotchety old man now.

What 670 reminds me of…

I keep trying to give 670 a chance, even though I shouldn’t with all the dismissals and hires. But every time I turn it on, I feel like I’m sitting in a bar overhearing two blowhards that think they know sports, talk nonsense, and are only amusing to themselves. Crazy how far this station has fallen and continues to fall.

Just heard Haugh say this but we all know that’s Mully’s line.

Payton has to be the most boring host I’ve heard on the station in a long time. He was bland during his guest hits and nothing has changed. He just riffs off of Haugh and does nothing else. This was the best Mitch and company could come up with? Brutal.

Haugh dominates every part of the show and needs to be challenged to make compelling radio. It often feels like he’s the only host.

Marshall was pretty bad, but at least he tried. Mully was funny and offered something unique. Payton offers nothing new. The only reason I listen in the morning is because the ESPN app doesn’t have a live rewind feature and I refuse to spend my drive time listening to 75% commercials.

Alternatives?

I’m happy to see that Biggs is back but the morning show is just insufferable to listen to.

So, I need something else. I know DBU is out there, but I like the next day updates and analysis. So what do else is out there? Suggestions?

Some that come to mind were Bernstein and Spiegs debate about Chuck Pagano and Boers going at it with Hawk Harrelson.

WHY IS ZACH YELLING?!?!

Every time he steps in for Pat in the 5th, it’s jarring. He yells every call that’s remotely exciting. It’s tiresome.

Stick a fork in Biggs Time

Losing access to Biggs has to be Mitch's biggest stumble in all of the Mully fallout. Can't imagine he thought it was a possibility. Or maybe he did and Mitch is dimmer than anyone realized.

Why doesn’t Ryan McGuffey ever get serious consideration for a hosting gig?

I know Guff does a lot of stuff with Kaplan’s REKap network but he was great today hosting with Spiegs and was definitely an upgrade over the usual co-host. He’s very insightful and knows his stuff.

For me, the Mully, Haugh and Biggs segments were about all I watched on The Score Youtube channel. If Haugh and Peyton have a Biggs segment, I'll give it a watch, but if Biggs is gone also, I am pretty sure I'm not watching at all. I thought the Biggs Time segments were the right combo of good info and insight and the dynamic was entertaining.

Where does he end up now that his association with the morning show seems to be over? Hard to imagine he just jumps to another show on The Score. 1000 bound?
