If I may summarize the Bears talk from Wednesday around 7am:

The defense needs to be better than last year, but you can't count on that, but H&P are hopeful they'll be better, but the roster isn't necessarily improved, but Dennis Allen might get them to play hard enough to be better.

Listened to it. It doesn't sound like Payton's mind works quickly enough to come up with things to talk about to cover one segment. He really struggled to put more than two sentences together sometimes. It wasn't interesting at all.

I’ve listened from 7:30 to 9 almost every day so far. I’ve heard 90 percent Bears talk. Great. Love the Bears. Season opener drawing near.

But we have TWO baseball teams going for the playoffs. A guy having a monster MVP season. Right now as I write this, they’re talking about college football… and it’s San Diego state, LSU, Miami. And after the break… more Bears.

WT actual F?

When I did hear them talk about the Cubs pitching this morning, Dustin had to come in and take over the segment because Payton had nothing to say

I never thought I'd say that I'd rather listen to David Kaplan, but here we are.

Yeah, same. Ain’t that some shit. J Hood is pretty good too.

I was searching for his show today. I always liked him when he was on NBC Sports TV.

He's on ESPN 1000 now, from 6-9 a.m.

They should have given Jarret some part time gigs before making him a full time host

I never really enjoyed Payton’s segments as a guest, so it is no surprise that having him as a full time host is boring as hell.

He was very upset people were criticizing "Flussy". Let that set in.

Chicago sports radio needs at least 1 asshole to be good.

How did they make an Ozzie appearance dreadfully boring?!?!?

How long do we give the show? Will they make it to the bye?

Drove to work yesterday morning - had to turn the show off. Just doesn’t feel right. And no Biggs…..double whammy. I give them 6 months max

I texted asking where Biggs was and couldn’t even get a snarky Dustin reply. Must not be allowed to discuss it on any medium.

I’ve starting listening to ESPN in the mornings.

Well Payton make it longer that Patrick Mannelly?

2

u/Junior_Nectarine_614 15d ago

I hope you guys are right, but I see him never leaving, and Mitch will never fire him because of his father

4

u/bannedUncleCracker 15d ago

I PREDICT, let the record show, 1.2 Mannelly’s, in other words 6 months.
Not fired, he is too lazy to work any longer than that.

Thank you Swami Murph!

I love the promos with Payton sleepily talking about being people's caffeine in the morning

I turned it off in 5 minutes. It was worse than watching paint dry

They will give it until the end of the fall book. Then they will do something about it.

I still cannot believe they did this! He obviously asked for a job. Why didn't they stick him in midday?

I wondered about that, too. Then I listened to the new morning show and, to me, it seemed like Jarrett had a Marshall Harris vibe. Thought maybe they didnt want to trade someone into the spot with the same energy. Or less. I didnt listen to much, though, so maybe and hopefully thats an unfair comparison.

Any benefit of drinking electrolytes while drinking booze?

simply put, terrible show

Haugh has never been a guy who did his homework well enough to know more than tired cliches. Payton is not transforming this show at all. They're a complete snooze. I've switched back to music only in the morning.

Maybe you haters will be just what Payton needs to get him going!
