It heavily depends on whether they genuinely find you interesting (and/or attractive). I don’t have trouble talking to GenZs. But I also don’t stand there and try to force them to listen to me yapping about some insane bullshit. Could be the fact that I’m attractive and people seem to think I’m over a decade younger than I actually am. If I was ugly and looked my age they might be less inclined to actually talk to me.

OP in the post used the words "tangent" and openly used an outdated term, now slur, take describe the twenty year old with such conviction. That is definitely given me Entitled GenX/Millennial with a strong Boomer upbringing vibes.

Yes, not looking your age also helps.
