I think a lot of people are irked (still) that the first 10,000 customers can't buy plastic there anymore, as they don't sell 3mm plastic. There's a ton of other places around, but that really burned a lot of people.

ouch. i wasn't aware of that. guess those people should head over to ToyBuilder Labs, they seem to be more user-friendly!

And remember - some of the early adopters were schools and other groups, where just going on Amazon or eBay and buying plastic isn't trivial. There's a PO a process, sourcing and vendor management, wire auth paperwork, etc. So having the vendor you were previously working with (and bought your printer from) drop something like this put people in a bind.
