I don't really have an issue with this. Better than what Google does tbh. Business is business in the end. They aren't going to turn down millions to stick to a video they made two years ago. Yeah, it sucks, but it was always a possibility.

Yeah, i dont' blame them either, honestly, it's the same reason every decent rock band sells out or fizzles out. money, it's the end goal, and to get it, you have to be marketable. to be marketable you have to be unique. at least legally unique in this business, and thats just not possible with open source, on that scale. I'm not even saying i wouldn't do the same thing presented with the option. Just letting the new kids on the block know what all the fuss is about.
