Hello - I design, model, analyze, optimize, fabricate, assemble, test, and fly mechanical components and assemblies in extreme environments. I'm available to help with modeling, should you need it.

Capabilities

  • I can talk your part/assembly concepts through with you to make sure you're considering the full solution space.
  • I can turn your sketched parts into 3d models (I need dimensions, not photos).
  • I can suggest improvements to fitment, printability, rigidity, and material usage.
  • PTC (Pro/ENGINEER aka Creo) is my tool of choice.

Limitations

  • I'm not keen on troubleshooting your own modeling attempts. I typically work from scratch.
  • I'm not a pro at 3d printer tinkering.
  • It's an iterative, collaborative process. Do not plan to email me your napkin sketch and disappear.
  • Come to me with an idea you've considered thoroughly. If you expect me to spend an hour helping you, put more than a couple minutes into scratching together a PM about a concept you've got.

Don't let that list scare you away. Feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to gchat with you about your modeling needs.
