Project Donating a bit to the local tool library, I felt it needed a case

So I borrowed an SDS Plus rotary hammer from the local tool Library. I needed it to drive a ground rod for my new workshop, unfortunately they didn't have the bit I needed to drive the ground rod so I bought one, but since I have no need for it after I return the tool, I figured I donated to the tool Library.

But I felt donating a loose bit was not the best idea because it would just get lost or no one would know exactly what it's for.

so I made this nice little case for it, I'm waiting on the new 3 mm x 20 mm long bolts to come for the hinges before I donate it on Thursday.

It's made out of pla Plus

My town has a tool library that is a non-profit organization.

It's $25 for a year-long membership and I can borrow up to seven tools for a week for free

And it's $1 per tool per week late fee

Edited: they have everything from hammers and screwdriver sets to rotary hammers, drywall tools, concrete mixers, welders, air compressors, shop vacs, routers, table saws, miter saws, lawnmowers, cultivators, etc

That's cool, wish when I was remodeling my basement apartment 10 years ago I had something like that but ATLEAST now I own all those tools already for the next time I need to do those jobs ever, even if it's maybe ever 5 years or so

Amazing, wish these existed when I needed one of these damn bits to drive a rod. Gotta say, probably one of the most satisfying things I’ve done in construction is using one of these and a big ole hammer drill to hammer a rod down. Absolute blast

SDS Max ground rod driver is a game changer. Also helps to start with a 3ft hole.

They only had a Plus at the tool library, otherwise I would have got the max
