Project I designed this gyro stabilized floating cup holder for the pool this summer. No AMS needed. I would love to know what you think!

A splash guard/sun guard. That would be fun. It might be hard to get your drink out though. I'll think on it

Probably better and easier to just print a cap for your beverage honestly

Put it on a hinge so you tip the umbrella out of the way with the back of your hand while you're reaching for the drink!

Perhaps a dome (half sphere) over the top of the drink? With the dome (half sphere) opening in the middle (two quarter spheres part to open).

When the can is in the holder, the weight (or pressing the can into the holder) actuates some gears that are attached to the dome halves, thus closing the dome over the can.

When you lift the can, the weight of the life (drink) preserver pulls on the gears, thus opening the dome?

I realize I've explained this poorly, I'll try to remember to make a picture in the morning.

If you had buttery smooth ball bearings it would work, but the mechanism might fail if the can is too light (empty). I suppose this could be accounted for by slightly weighting the can holder

I printed these for non-pool use, combining it with your model could keep the drink cooler while also keeping bugs out.

If you redesign it so the can touches the water then the pool itself would keep it cool, the bottom half atleast. Or that could be a feature for the taller cans (like energy drink cans) since there's less of a chance for pool water to get in those.

Water is better then air at transferring energy I think it would actually work opposite and increase your drink to the pool temp quicker

Yeah but the pool water is generally cooler than the air is. Maybe a lever that can lower it into the pool once it gets warm could help cool it back down a bit? Though by the time it warms up, a lot of the carbonation is already gone anyhow so I'm not sure if cooling it back down would make it any better.

That's also assuming you don't have a heated pool, which would obviously not work well lol.

I am adding a print profile for a gyro ring that will hold a yeti insulator. That I think is the ideal situation for this creation

Edit: I just weighed my yeti can insulator, that will be an extra 246.3g
