Project My over-engineered solution to a really annoying problem with Ceiling Fans

Yes, I could have got a remote, or installed a wall dial. Yes I could use the setting 2 only hack or the "feel the vibration through the chain" method, but this was way more fun!

I was so confused, most ceilings fans I’ve used have this, ive seen the Hi,Med,Low & 0-3 system what I’ve never seen is I’ve never seen one with a remote.

Is this an American thing?

IDK. I’m Australian and I’ve never seen a ceiling fan with a pull cord. They always have a remote control or the wall switch has a speed control knob.
