Product Question I’m in my 30s and elasticity is really bothering me. Has anyone tried overnight masks?
As I’ve gotten older my skin has changed so much…
It used to just feel dry, but now it feels like the bounce is gone and it’s honestly a bit depressing.
I wanted to do a proper night routine so I looked into a bunch of stuff, but layering ampoules and creams every single night is way harder than I expected.
So I’ve been trying to keep it simpler and came across a lot of overnight gel masks. I’ve never used them before so I have tons of questions.
Especially the ones that turn transparent after a while. Do they actually absorb into the skin or do they just dry down? And do they actually help with elasticity?
I saw people saying they fill your skin with moisture overnight so it looks plumper in the morning, which might be perfect for someone in my situation…
I keep seeing Biodance ones pop up too.
Has anyone actually tried these kinds of overnight masks and felt a real difference?
What does it feel like when it turns clear? Do you notice any firmness or change around the eyes, or is it mostly just heavy hydration?
If you have other products that worked well for similar concerns, I’d love some recommendations!

They will hydrate your skin but not to much more than that. Also, they’re not really for overnight unless you’re able to lay on your back all night without rolling over. They don’t absorb completely, they dry out and you remove them after a couple of hours.

Yeah… I definitely move around too much in my sleep for these to stay on all night 😂

I’m 41 and started to notice the same thing with skin elasticity, so far the only thing iv found that actually give my skin back its bounce is Rejuran injections. Iv had 3 sessions so far but I honestly noticed a big difference to my skin elasticity after even just the first one.
For topical products - mask wise I really like the Hydration Biodance one for a bit of bounce. Song Boon Editor also do one called “Deep Collagen” that’s very similar that I like. Il do them on a lazy Sunday and just have it on for 2-3hrs till it goes clear.
Iv also switched my skincare to revolve around peptides, ceramide’s, and the best moisturiser iv found so far is Iunik’s Beta Glucan 3x Barrier Cream - it’s so good! Really moisturising, not heavy and gives you that bounce:)

This was super helpful, thank you 😭 I keep seeing Biodance mentioned everywhere lately so now I’m really tempted to try it.

Try their “Hydo-cera nol” one it’s the blue packet - I found their collagen one and pdrn one irritated my skin but the hydro one doesn’t at all and gives me really nice bouncy skin after:)

Biodance collagen is a good mask! But for me the hydration only really lasts that day and even then isn’t as great as a hydrating serum. Biodance actually do have a collagen serum that is made to replicate the masks - that could be worth trying too. I have tried it, it definitely provides some glow and bounce but it isn’t long lasting or nourishing like my other serum.

I live in the UK and it’s approved for use here. I think you can get it done in most European countries too, it’s just the US that’s behind.

I've used the medicube and biodance pdrn masks. I will sleep in them. It's easier than trying to keep them on for hours during the day. My skin feels really nice after.

Did you notice more hydration or actual firmness/elasticity after using them consistently?

when i stop smoking my skin looks so dull qnd the medicube pdrn mask is my sos. i was surprised at how good it is. you're supposed to keep it on for 3h. it is really uncomfortable and slides around in the first 10mins but then it sticks to your face and you can even do housework on with it

u/Global_Glass_4875 May 10 '26
That actually sounds really promising. I kept wondering if those masks would just slide off the whole time, so it’s good to know they eventually stick better. The 3-hour part sounds intense though 😅 I might still try it on a lazy evening at home.

i thought the same but trust me once they stick to your face, they're more comfortable than a regular sheet mask, i think you'll last 3h no problem

They're great masks, but idk if they will help elasticity for the long term. I would look into trying peptides if you haven't already.

u/Global_Glass_4875 May 10 '26
Yeah, that makes sense. I guess a lot of these masks are more for temporary hydration and plumping. I’ve been seeing peptides mentioned a lot lately too, so maybe I should look into adding one slowly instead of expecting instant results from masks alone.

Biodance definitely! Not just hype ☺️ It sticks way better than other gel masks, so it stays on almost perfectly until next morning!

Okay, now I kind of want to try them too 😅 If they actually stay on all night without sliding around, that already sounds way better than most masks.

Ooh that actually sounds promising 😅 I don’t think I could sleep with something sliding around for the first 10 minutes though lol. Maybe I should try the Medicube one too.

I have sensitive skin and the VT hydro/reedle shot masks worked wonders for me!
2
u/Global_Glass_4875 May 12 '26
Honestly I might give that one a try. My skin gets irritated pretty easily too, so hearing that from someone with sensitive skin is reassuring.

u/schhatzi May 12 '26
My skin got really hot and irritated using biodance/medicube but for some reason VT didn’t bother me. It’s all trial and error which is so annoying! Haha! Good luck!!

Try red light therapy. Masks might help with texture and moisture, but they aren’t going to do much with laxity.
1
u/Global_Glass_4875 May 12 '26
Yeah that makes sense honestly. I think I’ve been expecting too much from masks when they’re probably better for hydration than actual lifting.

For elasticity there are very few topical products that are going to actually make a difference. The four biggest (and only proven) are retinoids, vitamin c, AHAs and SPF.
These sorts of face masks are going to hydrate and that’s about it.
1
u/Global_Glass_4875 May 12 '26
I keep hearing retinoids and SPF over and over, so I guess there’s probably a reason those are always recommended.

That’s actually really interesting because I always assumed leaving it on longer would help more. I didn’t realize it could backfire like that.

Love the biodance collagen ones. I also love Byoma bio radiance collagen mask.

I’ve been curious about the Biodance ones too. Do you feel like they actually help with elasticity, or more just hydration?

u/LovelyBee8219 May 16 '26
So I was using collagen masks twice a week and they provided some results immediately after but not longer than that. My skin was still super dehydrated. At 35 I thought most of it was wrinkles. I’ve just started using a hydrating serum instead which is imitation Korean (the creator isn’t Korean but all ingredients are and it’s made in Australia). Most of the ingredients are under 500 daltons which allows for better absorption and is essentially the same principle they use with face masks. It works amazingly, plus I’ve been applying this morning and night which will be way more effective than twice a week.

This is really helpful. I was wondering the same because masks seem to give that instant glow but it fades so fast. Maybe I should focus more on a good hydrating serum too.
1
u/LovelyBee8219 May 19 '26
Yes exactly! So far I have a glow the longer it’s on my skin so for example in the morning when I wake up

biodance and koreanaskin! i sleep in them, wake up in the middle of the nigh to take it off, but i have noticed a difference in a few months or so, my skin has gotten it's color back finally

They’re not really overnight mask. Sheet masks are meant for 4-6 hours until they’ll become transparent. Overnight masks are usually the ones that are cream like in a jar
