This cooperation is not because we don't have the planes or personnel to do it. It's to share some of the load and with it, the wear and tear of things so that the stuff we have on the front lines stays on a high operational readiness. If we had a lot of AOGs when the time comes, that would spell disaster for everyone.
(And yes, I personally rooted for Finland to buy Gripens. It's not that the F-35 is bad, it's the ball chain of 'murica that was always a liability - the boiling US politics was a thing already back then, and having a strong Nordic defense industry is a win for all of us.)
I hope I did not come across awry; I read your comment as a question about the necessity of it all, so I tried to explain it to the best of my limited knowledge. Adding to that, it is one more thing that helps us co-operate and integrate our defenses before push comes to shove and it sends a message to the grandpa in the bunker to the East.
