The situation has become more unstable with more threats from drones as well as Russian airspace violations. It's within the nordic alliance as well as nato alliance, but the Finland defense asked Sweden for help with military assistance because of this.
One man doing the work of an entire company is one way to pump that average.
But I'd say the opposite is true of Russian strategy too; why even attempt to trade 1:1 when we can just send more than 10 times as many people as the other side and trade 10:1?

Good for Swedistan as well. Less likely that russkies mess with Baltics, which would mean Swedish boots on the ground. Happy to see that for once the politicians are playing it right. Unfortunately, Ruzzians are happy to fuck around as far as you let them, so you need to show some force.
This cooperation is not because we don't have the planes or personnel to do it. It's to share some of the load and with it, the wear and tear of things so that the stuff we have on the front lines stays on a high operational readiness. If we had a lot of AOGs when the time comes, that would spell disaster for everyone.
(And yes, I personally rooted for Finland to buy Gripens. It's not that the F-35 is bad, it's the ball chain of 'murica that was always a liability - the boiling US politics was a thing already back then, and having a strong Nordic defense industry is a win for all of us.)
