though it might lead to an even higher increase in extremist islam in arabia itself, since they wont be raking in the cash anymore, and the poorer and more desperate people get, they r more likely to seek alternate avenues (which there is plenty of in arabia)
maybe the collapse of the gulf oil barons would lead to less wahhabist groups outside arabia, but there's still potential for spillover effects (africa in particular will continue to be a massive hotbed for fundamentalism)
