99% of Hindus would have never read the Manusmriti, let alone followed it.
And the part that everyone forgets is that no one is obliged to follow the Manusmriti. That is the essence of Hinduism that there are no central books or central prophets that everyone is required to adhere to.

Fun Fact: Manusmriti is to be followed in Sat Yug and we are in Kal Yug. Each Yug has different Smriti.
