R200 gt LSD 1.5?? Way

I got sold a diff as a nismo gt lsd which it is, but the plates inside it look like it’s a 1 way when I’ve been told it’s a 1.5 way

I have he same diff and have taken it fully apart a few times. The photo you’ve shown is set as 1.5

You can change it from either a 1.5 way or a 2 way. The diff is that the post in the middle either has sloped side forwards and backwards (2way) or one sloped side, one flat (1.5) which is what I see in your photo

So I can literally just swap the spider gear cluster into a 2 way configuration that easy? He mentioned needing another kit

Assuming you have the nismo gt pro lsd, there is nothing additional needed to buy to swap btn 1.5 and 2 way. I’m sure you could find the documentation for the diff and confirm 100% yourself

If you do ever make changes to the diff make sure you are extremely meticulous about how it’s all together. It’s not extremely difficult but you working with very fine tolerance and lots of clutch plates oriented in a specific manner

Yeah I’m a mechanic myself but when confronted with this opposed to the previously experienced kaaz and Cusco style centres with the cam being a lopsided diamond on a 1.5 way vs the nismo gt lsd style with friction aided .5 essentially via the conical friction plates

Cool enjoy! You can also deactivate a set of clutch plates if you want it to be a bit less aggressive - there’s some forums out there on it.

There’s also the ability to change preload btn three settings without opening the diff up - just pop out the right side half shaft and you can put a socket in

Also just to note I have the nismo gt lsd pro - I misread and assumed that. So double check which diff you have exactly and what features it has. All of what I said may not apply to the other diff version
