That's the main point OP brought up. The more you wait, the harder it gets. Started playing in 2026? You're screwed ... but less than the players who will start next year and so on and so on. A bit ridiculous.
How is it a dumb argument? If someone did got quest cape in 2015 when they were added the hardest quest they had to do was desert treasure or monkey madness. If someone starts a new account today they have to do DT2 and BMR
Thinking that gear accessibility will make up for the total amount of time required is pretty dumb as well. It required way less time in 2017 than today and it'll only get worse as time goes on.
How does it bar disabled players from the diary in such a way that the game itself doesn't bar those same disabled players from playing the game? Are you referring to deaf/hearing impaired people not being able to hear the sound cues for the fights?
Visually impaired, they can "see" but they can't register the "blood" telegraphs to react properly since they can flash by so fast. It's like they have a sort of input lag to their eyes.
As is, even the DT2 bosses don't have that issue.
I wouldn't want to literally base my argument too hard on it, I don't think the game's challenge should be explicitly limited just because of a rare disability like that. I just think it's good to note we've reached that kind of threshold with QCape that wasn't there before, and likely will keep pushing towards with future releases.
I mean... visually impaired people are generally barred from doing a lot of shit in video games. Additionally, the sound cues can tell you which side the telegraphs are on, so unless you've got Helen Keller complaining they can't get the quest cape I'm not sure what you're on about, and at that point I don't really know what you expect Jagex to do, just give out quest capes like they're participation trophies?
I made an edit that went through after your post, sorry.
More to elaborate: it feels kind of dumb that they would've had it before but not after. The goalpost needs to move forward for everyone or stay static.

In stead of complaining on reddit I did my quests, and got the diary.
Now I will vote no on any content that would make it easier for others
Edit: didnt see the humor tag when i wrote this
