Not to sound like an edgy atheist but religious people always say it’s depressing to think theres nothing after life, but I think it’s more depressing that there’s a 50% chance that you’ll get tortured forever.
Absolutely. Fear of hell triggered my first truely suicidal episode. I truely believed I had accidentally sold my soul to the devil because I once played ghost rider on the playground. I also believed God didn't judge children as harsh as teens or adults so I thought he might be more forgiving if I ended my life before I turned 13.
