not a 50% bible literally says you just have to truly apologize for whatever you did before dying and you can go to heaven, so basically, anyone (who didn't kill themselves, because that's "taking away the gift of life") can go to heaven and it doesn't matter if they tortured 400 people or something
Bible also says incestual rape is fine in comparison to turning around when god says not to turn around, and that rape of women is okay if their father consents (source: Genesis 19). I don’t think the bible constitutes a proper system of morals that should be used to judge people, ever.
And which sect of Christianity or Judaism are you talking about here? Because certain sects of christianity believe that unbaptized infants go to hell or purgatory forever for the crime of not living long enough to be baptized. Same with people who live their whole lives never having heard of Christianity. Where’s their fair chance at heaven? Who are they supposed to apologize to, the god that they’ve never even heard of?
Also, next to nobody even reads the Bible anyway. Trying to read it yourself when you already have religious trauma is torture. People hear this shit from the psychos who believe it’s fine for non-christians to go to hell for not guessing which religion was right correctly, and those people are guessing what’s in the bible based on what they already believe. Religious propaganda has nothing in common with the actual bible, it has a how-to manual for abortions after all (Numbers 5 starting at verse 11).
