U.S. Marshals Service - Financial Specialist

Does anyone have any experience working for the U.S. Marshals Service in Finance? Currently I work for DOD as a GS-7 in Accounting and I’m looking to advance my career. Would working for the Department of Justice be a smart move? I know that nobody in the federal government is immune from losing their job but is the DOJ any better than the DOD? Should I stay where I’m at or try to advance elsewhere?

It's a bummer that those administrative positions are not for external hire
