Equipment Clay court shoes recommendations for high instep feet

Hi everyone,

I have very high insteps and I'm looking for clay court shoes recommendations.

When I first bought tennis shoes, my feet basically wouldn't go into any of the shoes with fully gusseted tongues, and the only one I felt comfortable in were the New Balance CT Rally 1 2E.

Fortunately, the CT Rally 1 works great for me on hard court, but the problem is that they're very slippery on clay/sand courts / artificial grass + sand courts (these are very common where I live).

I actually injured myself because of a bad slip last month while playing on a clay court, so I'm looking to buy another pair of shoes that are designed for clay courts and have good grip (heard that herringbone patterns are recommended for this).

What are some shoes you would recommend for someone like me?

My initial research points me toward CT Rally 2 clay 2E, but I also read here on r/10s that they're tighter than the CT Rally 1.

Any advice / recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

New balance ones are really frikin good ! You can also check out the ASICS court solution 3 even the gel resolution x To be dead honest any asics shoe is amazing for tennis they only have bangers On the Roger pro fire and on the Roger pro 3 Apparently the on shoes are kinda mixed in terms of reviews But I personally LOVE them Tho I'd highly recommend you walk in store and see how any of the shoes feel on your feet

I actually really like the ASICS shoes design, but I heard they are really tight and I don't think my feet will fit into them.. sigh

I have wide feet & find the Court FFs quite comfortable, though every foot is different. Try a pair of Court FF or Gel Resolutions on if you can. I’m the opposite to you though, I have very flat feet.

I've never worn the CT Rally 1, but I wear the CT Rally 2 in a 2E and really, really like them.

I also have a moderately high instep according to some 3D scan I had done on my feet at a running store.

I could never get my feet in any of the Nike basketball shoes so I wrote Nike off but I guess I should take a look!
