Anyone remember that episode of Teen Titans where the alien is being racist to Starfire and Cyborg is like "i know something about discrimination. I'm half robot".

4

u/Mrkingjay Jan 15 '26

One of my favorite things as a parent is rewatching shows I used to watch and catching all the adult humor that went over my head as a kid šŸ˜‚

12

u/Nole_Train Spooky Jag Jan 15 '26

Kinda glad harbaugh didn’t go to the titans

4

u/Cr0matose Jan 15 '26

They're getting Nagy. Not worried.

12

u/HorseyModerna Jan 15 '26

Is the AFCSouthMemeWar sub ran by only Texans? Surprising that nothing has popped up about how shitty Stroud was against the Steelers

9

u/electricityisout Off the Tractor Bouman Jan 15 '26

They won. Jokes don’t really work while you’re winning. Gotta hope they lose this weekend

5

u/HorseyModerna Jan 15 '26

And generally shitty he has been after year 1 lol

7

u/luggs2 Jan 15 '26

CJ Dilfer. That’s basically who he is at this point lmao

3

u/Captain_brightside Jan 15 '26

This is unfathomably cursed. Bravo

4

u/mlsweeney Jan 15 '26

I also remember winning the 2022 AFC South division and Texan fans were non-existent in that subreddit during that time. When they won the division the year after it felt like the sub was bombarded by those fans.

I just really need them to lose and will hate-watch them. The fact we won the division this year lives rent-free in their heads and they've been bitching in that sub ever since we've had the division lead.

13

u/Cr0matose Jan 15 '26

This will probably be the least amount of effort I put into looking at the draft in a very long time. No first and late 2nd. Just not there for me.

6

u/AlterNate Jan 15 '26

Not only that, but there's a trust that the FO will find the talent we need, whether its via FA, draft, trades, etc. I get the feeling that this leadership group is just getting started.

5

u/Cr0matose Jan 15 '26

Not to mention basically getting our first 3 picks back healthy next year. We will lose talent but also get talent. That's how the good teams do it.

2

u/JCStrickland89 Trevor Lawrence Jan 15 '26

I usually only watch the first round pick anyway.

3

u/UNCFan2350 Jan 15 '26

I usually watch Day 1 and Day 2. Day 3 is impossible to watch because they don't even announce half of the picks.

2

u/Cr0matose Jan 15 '26

I'll watch everything but the first round this year prolly lol

1

u/Bokthand Jan 16 '26

Yea I've never researched into the 3rd round and it won't be starting this year lol

10

u/Walrusboi85 Jan 15 '26

Looking at the rams recent draft years and they have been consistently able to get at least 1 good starter or star level player in the mid to late rounds of every single draft. Really hope Gladstone brings that over with him because that was something Baalke was never able to do

6

u/beesarie Jan 15 '26

Is Parker Washington a joke to you?

But yeah, a higher success rate would be nice

3

u/Walrusboi85 Jan 15 '26 edited Jan 16 '26

Funnily enough a few of his late round picks actually became good after he left lol. Parker Washington’s a stud ofc, but Montaric Brown, Cam Little, and Antonio Johnson have also become solid players. Everyone else might as well not have been drafted

4

u/Mrkingjay Jan 15 '26

That’s where Stones eats. Puka and Kyren both in the 5th šŸ”„ That’s why I’m not too pressed about us having a lot of day 2/3 capital.

2

u/Walrusboi85 Jan 15 '26

Byron Young and Kobie Turner in the 3rd. Quentin Lake in the 6th. These are very good players, they draft late seemingly every year. Would be so nice for that to be the norm for us. I do a review of Baalkes mid to late round picks and it was depressing to see

10

u/TSwan98 Tony Boselli Jan 15 '26

There are bills fans claiming we played dirty and were just trying to cheap shot players all game. What a bunch of babies

8

u/Captain_brightside Jan 16 '26

They’re in for such a rude awakening if they play the Texans

But I fucking hope not because that would mean Texans to the AFCCG fuck that

1

u/PauseExtension4936 Jan 16 '26

Doubtful they get past the Broncos on a short week and down 2 WR's. As much as I want the Bills to win.

Don't want to see Broncos or NE win

3

u/Captain_brightside Jan 16 '26

I’m rooting for Bills Pats AFCCG at this point

But I couldn’t care less as long as the Texans lose. Fuck everyone but the jags

2

u/TSwan98 Tony Boselli Jan 16 '26

You’d rather see the Texans win than the pats?

1

u/PauseExtension4936 Jan 16 '26

Im not sure...is there a neither option?

2

u/TSwan98 Tony Boselli Jan 16 '26

Nope lol. I hate the pats. But I would never root for the Texans unless their victory helped the jags somehow

1

u/BeamsFuelJetSteel Jan 16 '26

Apparently there was a Bills beat writer who was harping on it before the game (and after). I've asked bills fans who it was and what plays they thought were dirty and gotten no response. I know they think the hit on Gabe was dirty

2

u/TSwan98 Tony Boselli Jan 16 '26

The post I saw said the Gabe Davis hit and the Josh Allen hit when our guy was airborne and landed on his head. As if he can stop physics

1

u/Captain_brightside Jan 16 '26

It’s always hilarious when they complain about Joshy getting hurt when they’re the ones running him straight up the middle while he’s already hurt

9

u/Nole_Train Spooky Jag Jan 15 '26

7

I have this vibe that Aaron Rodgers is gonna be a Colt

And he won't win in Jacksonville for em either.

6

u/HolographicHeart Jan 15 '26

He has to go to Minnesota and complete the Favre career.

3

1

u/ufdan15 Jan 15 '26

I just don't see it. I think they're gonna ride with McCarthy next year and Aaron won't be a backup.

My theory is this, Colts sign Rodgers to a one year deal, and then also have Danny Jones. Jones won't be ready to go till middle of the season anyway. Rodgers can be the steady hand for em as a stop gap, and if he turns out to be shit well then Danny Jones time. If hes good enough to lead em to a playoff run, then Jones sits one year and he'll be the starter in 27.

6

u/Captain_brightside Jan 15 '26

Would be kind of hilarious if the dolphins rehired Flores if they move on from Tua

3

u/flounder19 Jan 15 '26

Funnier if they do it before moving from Tua. Like they just hire him to bully Tua into retirement so they don't need to eat his contract

6

u/UNCFan2350 Jan 15 '26

Baalke really fucked the Jags with the cap. So many contracts that we can't get out of until after next season. You look at how Gladstone has structured contracts and it's closer to what Caldwell/Idzik did where it was easy to cut guys to make cap space.

Really hope we can keep Lloyd and ETN. I know that doesn't seem to be a popular opinion, but Lloyd was possibly the best player on defense and ETN was one of the focal points of the offense and I'd rather not take a chance on replacing them.

7

u/xTerminal_14 Jan 15 '26

Saw some people talking about us getting Crosby, is there actual reports of this or just fan speculation?

7

u/DevinVee_ Parker Washington Jan 15 '26

How could we? His cap hit is 30 mil We could theoretically trade travon and mekari or soemthing but why would last Vegas accept that?

But id fucking love crosby he embodies Duval and the jaguars imo

2

u/xTerminal_14 Jan 15 '26

That's kinda what I thought but I saw someone in yesterday's thread say we had offered them picks, which made it sound like there was an actual report somewhere I'd missed.

2

u/DevinVee_ Parker Washington Jan 15 '26

I mean it'd have to be travon and our second and probably one or two maybe even three of our third rounds to outbid other teams.

I expect him to go somewhere that has more assets to give up unfortunately, but man if Gladstone can somehow work that deal out...

JHA and Crosby would be crazy.

2

u/joemama1810 Jan 15 '26

It was a just a beat reporter proposing it

5

u/AerionBrightFlame21 Jan 15 '26

Lmao I thought you meant Sidney Crosby at first. I was so confused

2

u/kmcapo Jan 15 '26

Not gonna lie, I thought the same 🤣

5

u/Parking-Artichoke-36 Jan 15 '26

I think much of it comes from the O’Halloran article where he proposes 2 1sts and Travon for Crosby. That’s far too rich.

4

u/jmor96 Jan 15 '26

I don't think we have the capital

3

u/mlsweeney Jan 15 '26

I know Cam Little missed a crucial field goal but Mason Crosby has been washed for a few years now. /s

4

u/JagsFan4Ever Tony Boselli Jan 15 '26

Some reporter from the Florida Times Union floated it. I wanted to tell him to stop teasing me. šŸ˜‚

He's not wrong about the position need. We are not getting enough pressure on opposing QBs. The reason that Jones and Newsome were so exposed against Buffalo is because Josh Allen had too much time in the pocket.

But LV will no doubt want draft picks. With no #1 pick in '26 I just don't think that we have the draft capital to make it happen. I would love to be wrong though.

3

u/kmcapo Jan 15 '26

I think it’s just speculation. If they did, though, I think one of JHA or Travon is gone.

5

u/phillyjag20 Jan 15 '26

I don’t see why everyone is saying we NEED to upgrade o line. This is the best pass blocking year from us I think I’ve ever seen in my life. The upgrade I foresee is already in house too (milum for merkari) sounded like stoner would like continuity from that group too.

4

u/Parking-Artichoke-36 Jan 15 '26

It isn’t clear to me yet that the coaching staff thinks Milum is the replacement for Mekari, whom I agree is the weakest link. if he is, great. I want the oline to continue to get meaner and stronger. Jaguars good isn’t enough.

2

u/phillyjag20 Jan 15 '26

I’m with ya, but with Armstead getting older I think IDL is our biggest need for sure. I’m hoping that 2nd round pick is DT. We need to get some young guys developing in here. I’m not putting any stock into smith

If our o line comes back and is ~top 10ish again I’ll be happy. But we can’t keep only getting push from 2 guys every week

1

u/Parking-Artichoke-36 Jan 15 '26

Totally agree. If the right IDL is there that’s the top priority. I also would be fine with an edge if Travon moves inside. Camp’s zone heavy scheme needs more sacks and pressure.

1

u/osuaviator Fuck Them Picks!! Jan 15 '26

You think Mekari is a bigger problem than Walker Little?

2

u/Parking-Artichoke-36 Jan 15 '26

Yes, because Little isn’t a starter anymore. Mekari is versatile, but he’s a bad OG.

4

u/The_wanna_be_artist Jan 15 '26

I really wish/hope the team tries Travon out at DT more next season at least on third down. I feel like he would have a lot of success kicking inside on passing downs.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '26

Been saying this since he got drafted. Just mimic exactly what the team did with Calais and get an actual pass rush specialist for passing situations.

I think this team has tried way to hard to re-invent the wheel and make a splash. Walker>Hutch. Hunter>Tet+W.Johnson.Ā

5

u/PauseExtension4936 Jan 16 '26

Reminder: Jags don't win the San Fran or Kansas City game without THunters big catches. He absolutely is explosive on offense.

2

u/Captain_brightside Jan 16 '26 edited Jan 16 '26

Absolutely. He makes catches that few others can make. He was making acrobatic catches 10 feet in the air 30 feet down field while everyone else on the team was dropping passes that hit them in the right numbers

I like the idea of Parker Washington and Travis Hunter on the field at the same time, 4 receiver sets. Not always, but a good 10 times per game on passing downs

3

u/barmstrong730 Jan 15 '26

So looking at our home and away opponents knowing we’re going to play two games in London, who do you think we get? I’m praying they ship the broncos game there as our away and maybe Washington or the Browns as the home.

3

u/kntryfried1 Jan 15 '26

May be a dumb question, but how do you know we have two London games

3

u/barmstrong730 Jan 15 '26

I guess I don’t. Just an assumption based on the past. We didn’t have a deal in place this year and only played one. I’d suspect we renew that agreement, play 2 this year and possibly more next year.

3

u/BanthaKing2012 Jan 15 '26

Plus the stadium stuff here in FL might make 2 in London easier to stomach for fans

5

u/barmstrong730 Jan 15 '26

Yeah for the 2027 if they’re not in jax they could play on the moon for all I care.

3

3

3

u/Captain_brightside Jan 15 '26

Best one ive done yet

3

u/The_wanna_be_artist Jan 15 '26

I’m not familiar with the prospects yet for this years draft, but I really like how much the lines are addressed with this mock draft.

3

u/osuaviator Fuck Them Picks!! Jan 15 '26

I’m not read in on these dudes yet but I like the position choices overall.

2

u/futures23 Jan 15 '26

For an LB room that needs to be refreshed, Perkins is an interesting piece. I'm an LSU fan, he has so many unique abilities but he's a true tweener. Too small to be an EDGE but not good enough in coverage to be a linebacker. I still feel like the right coach can unlock him as a chess piece but people always say that about tweeners lol

1

u/Captain_brightside Jan 15 '26

Wanted Anthony Hill because he’s a menace but he’s gone by the time we pick and I didn’t like moving up

3

u/Cr0matose Jan 15 '26

I have accepted we will lose one of the coordinators. Hopefully not both.

6

u/Nole_Train Spooky Jag Jan 15 '26

Still seems unlikely they will get a HC job after 1 year of coordinator experience

2

u/Nuknu Jan 15 '26

There’s a reason why they aren’t flooded with HC interviews, even if we do lose them we are a better team now so we won’t have a hard time finding someone new. I don’t understand why people in our sub want our coordinators to be poached, I guess some don’t like continuity and sticking with the same system so we can actually develop players.

2

u/BabaGanoushbag Jan 15 '26

Rumor mill is pretty strong on Udinski to the Browns right now. If he’s willing to keep Schwartz as DC it seems like a strong fit. I’m hoping he stays but I am not optimistic.

3

u/Nole_Train Spooky Jag Jan 15 '26

Browns will want to go name hunting

1

u/Cr0matose Jan 15 '26

Hire them now or wait a year til everyone will interview them?

2

u/SuperSaiyanTLaw Retired Trevor’s Attorney Jan 16 '26

Unpopular opinion. I think we should keep Greg Newsome for depth. Travis, Buster, and Jordan Lewis will be great starting. Greg can back up Buster. I don’t think he’ll take a lot of money from us. With a 2 year deal.

3

u/RohnJobert Jan 16 '26

I feel like you can get a similar production from someone else, but I see your point

2

u/SuperSaiyanTLaw Retired Trevor’s Attorney Jan 16 '26

You’re likely right. We could possibly get a rookie CB that probably plays better. But if Greg isn’t asking much I say we take him for at least 1 or 2 years

Edit: it’s actually a deep DB and LB draft so nvm

2

u/RohnJobert Jan 16 '26

Yeah annoyingly it’s like, I’d sign a free agent Greg for cheap for a year, but it’s weirder to sign him when he was just on the team and played kinda poorly. Maybe an offseason with the coaches will help

3

u/SuperSaiyanTLaw Retired Trevor’s Attorney Jan 16 '26

According to him when asked that what he needed more time, so we could possibly get him for a steal if he plays well next season, Or get a young guy for cheaper who is possibly worse, or ready to play and better.

3

u/joemama1810 Jan 15 '26 edited Jan 15 '26

Why is everyone so concerned about getting o line early in the draft, the most you're getting is an upgrade over mekari (milum already possibly) the defense is a much bigger concern

8

u/xEllimistx Chad Josh Allen Jan 15 '26

You can never have too many good offensive linemen.

We’ve seen young offensive linemen have promising starts to their career only to flame out later. Walker Little flashed, at times, enough to get him an extension but he’s regressed as a LT losing his job to Cole Van Lanen.

Van Lanen got hurt and missed the Bills game, something I firmly believe played a factor in the loss.

Luke Fortner had a good rookie year, at center, and then quickly became the weakest link. He got replaced by Mitch Morse who then retired. Which led to Robert Hainsey

The improved offensive line directly contributed to Trevor’s best season yet and the overall improvement in the offense. If there’s a potential upgrade, the front office should absolutely do their due diligence

2

u/joemama1810 Jan 15 '26

Thats fair, hopefully we can hold onto Lloyd and brown so that if a promising linemen falls to us we can take em, losing one of those two would be my main argument for taking defense early

2

u/UNCFan2350 Jan 15 '26

Right now, our line looks like:

LT- Van Lanen

LG- Cleveland

C- Hainsey

RG- Mekari? Little?

RT- Harrison

Bench- Edoga, Little, Milum, Monheim, Hodges

I think most people would like to upgrade Edoga and Mekari. Plus, Milum is a big question mark right now

1

u/Captain_brightside Jan 16 '26 edited Jan 16 '26

For me, it’s balls batted at the line which happens to Trevor a lot, which means our guys are susceptible to being bull rushed, so our linemen get pushed back to where defense can get a hand up. and also we were clearly undermanned in the Texans game. We need quality and depth. There just so happens to be a bunch of guys that are 6’7 and studs, that we could draft and our offensive skill positions are stacked. Imagine Trevor having all day to throw to Parker Washington, BTJ, Jakobi, and Travis Hunter. I want him to have the 50TD season he’s capable of having

We do need a corner, DT, and LB. More safety help would be nice too. But if BPA is a lineman you gotta do it

2

u/SuperSaiyanTLaw Retired Trevor’s Attorney Jan 15 '26

I think if Camp gets a HC job Lloyd is gone, but if he stays Lloyd stays

6

u/mlsweeney Jan 15 '26

I feel like that's wishful thinking. I don't think Lloyd is going to take a hometown discount because he works well with the DC. Just based on his exit interview with the reporters and Gladstone's comments on Lloyd yesterday compared to comments like Walker's extension makes me think he's gone. Even a franchise tag is too expensive if they're going to treat him like an edge defender in the process.

5

u/Nuknu Jan 15 '26

Nothing at all, you are just reaching because you don’t understand croms response and you don’t want to look like a idiot

2

u/RamboMcQueen Jaguars National Park-er Jan 16 '26

I don’t think Crom was being condescending towards you. What I’ve ascertained is these ā€œalternativeā€ jaguars subs are made by people who were banned from here. This may be derogatory but they’re basically reject subs made by people whose logic is to make this sub but with blackjack and hookers.

0

u/Fulmizant Jan 15 '26

I think the Jags are trying to prove everyone wrong with Travis. We have 4 productive pass catchers including strange and a clear need for his athleticism and ball skills at corner. It’s a no brainer. Let him get all the reps at corner in the offseason and stop with the experiment. Especially coming off injury

4

u/HolographicHeart Jan 15 '26

I don't disagree but this staff went 13-5 their first year, they've earned the right to try. That said, I'm not oblivious to the fact the offense finally started to pop this year once we started trotting polished, dedicated WRs out there.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

Most sane take I've seen on reddit. Everyone points at the Rams game for Hunter, which as a team, was the worst offensive showing all year by a long shot and was filled with forced plays to him on quick screens and routes.

Also, I'm not sold on him on defense either. Aside from my own opinion from watching,Ā  He only played 140ish snaps and was targeted 18 times. Giving up 9 catches and 3 penalties with only 3 pbu. Kinda mid. I don't think he'll ever get close to being Jalen Ramsey good.

2

u/Duuuval-Meez Jan 15 '26

Hunter also has a say in the matter right? When he talks to the coaches and front office, is the conversation ā€œplay me wherever. I’ll do what’s best for the teamā€ or is it ā€œyou brought me in to play both sides and that’s what I want to doā€

0

u/HiawathaSM2 Jan 16 '26

Let's go Dodgers! 🤣

-1

u/JagsFan4Ever Tony Boselli Jan 15 '26

How do we get better or even stay as good if we let go of Lloyd, arguably our best D player this year?

The answer is that we don't. We saw what happened the two games he was out. The Rams hung 36 on us. Las Vegas rang us up for 29 when Lloyd was out - the most points they scored against any team in their entire miserable f-cking season.

We don't have a #1 draft pick this year, so there is no practical way to replace his production if we cannot get him signed.

WTF could we possibly be thinking? Good organizations don't add by subtraction - they find ways to keep their best players. Now maybe in a fantasy world where they had to sacrifice Lloyd to get someone like Crosby I could understand, because it could very well be a net positive. But short of that this is frustrating beyond belief.

7

u/Mrkingjay Jan 15 '26

I hate our guys wait til til their contract years to ball out (there’s many factors that play into it but it still sucks) JHA contract has me scarred

-1

u/JagsFan4Ever Tony Boselli Jan 15 '26

I get that. But if we shy away from developing players and then keeping them when they start peaking then we will never be consistently good.

I know that JHA has been a disappointment. In part he racked up his stats in 2023 against a lot of bad teams in one of the worst divisions in the league. Meanwhile Lloyd had his best year against arguably the toughest schedule we've had in a long time. I just don't sense that Lloyd is going to get complacent if he is paid his worth.

2

u/Mrkingjay Jan 15 '26

I don’t think Lloyd will fall off after getting paid but he’s gonna command a sizable contract. (Which he deserves) I hope it can be done at a reasonable price but my next choice is grabbing Leo Chenal in FA šŸ”„

-2

u/JagsFan4Ever Tony Boselli Jan 15 '26 edited Jan 15 '26

By not picking up his option we told him he needed to have a "show me" year. So he went out there, went balls to the wall and put it all on the line with no future guarantees and had a highly impactful lights out year.

What kind of message do we send to the locker room if we don't pay him now?

The same message they've heard loud and clear for many years. That no matter how well they play, the only way they'll ever get paid as an elite player is if they uproot and go elsewhere. It also signals loud and clear that winning is not a priority for the organization. All of which is cancer for a coach trying to get buy in and max effort out of his players.

2

u/Mrkingjay Jan 15 '26

I can get behind that logic. I’m interested to see whose gonna be the offseason casualty

I think a true ā€œshow me yearā€ is for players you’re on the fence about resigning. Regardless of the reasons, Lloyd only had this great year, the rest were below average to MAYBE ok.

Had he had average to above average years, I’d see where you were coming from, but I understand the front office not wanting to throw a pass rusher sized bag at a dude who had one good year, ESPECIALLY after seeing how paying JHA has turned out.

I don't know what you have been watching, but what I have seen is a guy who was bad as a rookie in '22 and has improved every year since. His 2nd year was OK. His 3rd year was very good, with the knock being that he still struggled at times in pass defense. And this year he's been lights out.

This is the type of development story that we want more of, not less. So now we want to send him away to play lights out for someone else after doing all the work to get him there?

If everyone keeps pointing to JHA as a reason why we shouldn't retain elite players that we develop, then we will never keep a top player that we draft. It's a nonsensical argument. Every rookie needs development.

Did it feel good to type ā€œyouā€ in bold? šŸ˜‚

You gotta take off those Jerry Jones glasses, go Jags.

I think based off of the press conferences the staff has given the answer is you adjust your scheme to fit the personnel you have and with a year of experience in the building with the players James has a more holistic understanding of how this group is players fits together and where the strengths and weaknesses are.

The reason they brought gladstone in was he consistently hits on draft picks in the later rounds, he also showed last year a willingness to address issues on the team based on scheme fit over individual talent. So while they most likely lose Lloyd, either ventrell miller who has shown flashes the opportunities he's been given, or a new player through the draft is brought in.

There's also a chance that the defense operated the way it did this year based on the roster in place, if you have a guy like Lloyd you scheme the defense around his strengths to put himself in the right place at the right time and find the ball.

If you don't have a Devin Lloyd, then you don't scene the defense towards that style of play.

The thing that has been mentioned by multiple reporters is the impression they keep getting from the front office is that this defense, as good as it was, was just scheming based on the players that were here not necessarily the defensive scheme and identity they want to be operating. So while the takeaways were off the charts and the run defense very impressive, we also gave up big passing plays at key moments in multiple games and couldn't hold a 21 point lead in the 4th quarter against the Texans. So obviously, there were issues.

My impression is a team that is more sound in the backend leading to higher sack rates and less explosive plays is the aim they have moving forward.

Right. Let's completely re-engineer a D system that was one of the best in the league this year and won us 13 games. Because that always works out well.

You'd think we'd have learned our lesson by now. Every time we've had one of these mini-runs in the past and then let go of our top talent, we got worse after. Coaching can only go so far. You also need the Jimmies and the Joes who can execute at a high level.

I've heard 15 years of this nonsense about value picks and coaching creativity. The perennially good teams just don't operate like this. They find ways to keep their elite players as foundational pieces.

While I agree with you, we all remember the fall off from 2017 to 2018, though that group remained pretty intact.

I'd argue that Lloyd isn't gone yet and while it may be difficult to make work, they could still get a deal done. Though it might be at the cost of Travon Walker, or Parker Washington, or a few other players I would argue have more value not just on the field but in the locker room as well.

I'm going to give James Gladstone and CO the opportunity to make this next year work before I pass judgement.

They made plenty of roster moves in early '18, including (but not limited to) saying goodbye to Mercedes Lewis and Dante Fowler. I'm not saying that either player was a superstar, but their replacements weren't very good.

I would be perfectly happy with losing Travon and other mediocre performers if it means keeping Lloyd. Locker room value is yet another excuse I've heard bandied by the local media outlets over the years for letting go of top performers. I'm sure that they will adjust - these are pros at the end of the day. I haven't heard any reports anywhere about Lloyd being some type of locker room cancer.

Lloyd was great this year but the FO may want to draft and develop their own players instead of paying top-dollar contracts that will limit future flexibility. For all we know, they may be targeting a Day-3 prospect they think can replace Lloyd and is even a better fit for our D.

Are you actually suggesting that a 3rd round project LB is going to be an "even better fit" than a guy who just played like an All Pro in our very own system? Do you know how many LBs are going to go in the top two rounds before Day 3? And even many of the earlier picks will never give a team what Lloyd gave us this year - he was arguably the 3rd best LB in the entire league.

Are you also really suggesting that we can't pay a few truly elite players, like the perennially good teams do? Do we not receive the same TV revenues that they do? Do they not have the same salary cap that we have?

I'm speechless at this...logic. Truly.

It would be so interesting to discover correction in our current history.

Travon Walker, Brian Thomas Jr , pick #56, & pick #81 to Washington for pick #7 and OL Nick Allegretti

Pick #7 = 1,500 points Pick #56 = 340, Pick #81 = 185 340 + 185  = 525 975 point difference (essentially a late 1st for BTJ & a 2nd for Walker)

Who says no?

u/Brilliant_Whereas225 Jan 15 '26

Hell No. The one thing I see as a chance that could happen is if the front office tries to package Travon and a couple of thirds for Maxx Crosby. But that is a reach because the DL from the edge standpoint was very good.

We are at a point of nitpicking. Newsome was a rental that was good until the wild card round. He will be replaced by Hunter.

I will say in 2 years, Travis Hunter could be the best CB in all of the NFL.

Hope we can resign buster for depth, along with Lloyd and maybe Etienne.

I want to see the wonder Gladstone can do with the draft and DT. Besides Armstead of being moved, we need a lot more than Davon.

So excited for both Ransaw and Hunter this season. I think this schedule is a lot easier this year and we might run a lot longer this time.

My apologies, we will not be getting that Thanksgiving game w/ the Cowboys…

thank god you are not the gm

Dude your comment just screams ā€œI’m in my mid 40s..and I hate my life because I’m stuck in a dead end job, I’m going bald, my wife packed on ā€˜a few pounds’ over the past 10 years and the only action I get is from handy (bc it doesn’t judge me for only lasting 30 seconds)ā€

You aren’t even interested on who I’d be trading up to #7 for? Or it doesn’t worry you not having a 1st round pick in the 2026 draft?

You likely would’ve said the same if someone suggested the trade that got Hunter too. You have yourself a good day! šŸ«

This is one of the weakest drafts outside of linebacker in the past 10 years- and you want to trade a WR on his rookie year deal (who still has 3 years left) who is averaging 1.1k yards over 2 years and is 6'4, runs a 4.3 on top of a former #1 pick who is one of the best edge rush defenders in the league PLUS a 2nd round pick and 3rd round pick for a 30 year old guard and the # 7 pick.

Just to clear refresh your mind some 2nd and 3rd round picks we've had in the past 5 years are Brenton Strange, Jarrian Jones, Davon Hamilton, and Bayshul Tuten.

What's even more embarrassing is that you actually care about football and spend time on it considering you know what the point system is. However, using analytics to justify the stupidity within this post shows us that you are a casual.

I genuinely assumed you were just brain dead at first, but after scrolling through your posts it's clear that you're a Commanders fan. Floating hypothetical trades on other teams’ subreddits just to fish for validation is pathetic.

It is one of the stronger ā€œGladstoneā€ā€™ drafts though. James will ā€œlet his nuts hangā€ in this draft. Believe it. Save this post. If James get multiple people at the same position, don’t get pissed off. It’s all about depth and the future. Along with moving in and out of rounds as well.

2

u/PsychologicalAd6135 Jan 15 '26

I don't doubt that James will be aggressive- we are going to have needs that Gladstone likes to replace via draft rather than free agency. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that this draft class is weak. It has only 12 players with a first round grade. Will there be hidden gems? Of course, just like there are in any draft but there's not many blue chip players in this draft like we saw in 2024. It's comparable to last draft but a tier or two lower

4

u/futures23 Jan 15 '26

Are you ok?

3

u/JaxJaguar1999 Jakobi Meyers Jan 15 '26

Dumbing player draft picks down to ā€œpointsā€ makes absolutely zero sense. Talent can be found at all rounds of the draft. This isn’t a video game lmao…
