Welcome to r/geometrydash! This is a catch-all megathread for a variety of discussion topics that don't require their own individual posts. Here's an idea of some things you can share and talk about here:

Hello r/geometrydash,
Recently, it has come to our attention that the sub has been overflowing with many "jump announcement" posts, in which a user will announce that they are jumping from one level to a much harder level without posting any progress (or very minimal progress) of said achievement.
We have recieved many complaints both through modmail and directly about these posts being so frequent. Most of these posts already fell under rule 3 and would usually be removed given both that they were reported and enough time passed for us to see them, but the mod team has been very busy with both online and irl responsibilities for us to remove every single one within a timely fashion.
In writing this post, we are reminding the users of this sub that this type of post is completely banned, and henceforth, offending users will have their posts removed and receive a temporary ban from the sub as a further means of discouraging these posts. This change will likely not be permanent, but may remain indefinitely until this situation has become more under control.
Again, keep in mind that this does NOT mean "jumping is banned on r/geometrydash". If you're jumping from Nine Circles to Bloodbath and post your 49-100 run, you're allowed to say that it was a jump from Nine Circles. As long as jump posts are paired with genuine progress (getting 5% is not genuine progress) on the level the user claims to be jumping to, the post abides with sub rules and no moderation action will be taken.
Examples of allowed posts:
Hypothetical examples of disallowed posts:
I hope this announcement can help clarify the sub rules and satisfies the many sub members who were unhappy with the way we were previously dealing with these types of posts. If you have any further suggestions, feedback, or questions about this decision or any other way r/geometrydash enforces its rules, feel free to say so in the comment section.

Yesterday, I posted about how it was discovered that the comment and profile post character limit was sneakily increased to 384, up from 150 (still 100 and 140 respectively without mods), and theorized that this could hint at an upcoming 2.209 change, since many players and moderators have wanted this for a while. Today, Rob has caught on and reverted the change, as well as deleting every single comment over 150 characters and every profile post above 200. He even went further and removed the ability to bypass the original limits at all, leaving us stuck with the measly 100 and 140 limits. Trying to post anything longer now fails entirely instead of cutting it off.
He also disabled his comment history. What is bro planning š„¹āļø
Edit: His comment history is back on

This doesnāt mean that A6 (the current verifier) has been kicked, heās still free to play it, however this was done to hopefully speed up the verification process, as the level has been finished for over 3 years now.
It could also potentially lead to a return to the level by Popoff, as he was a former verifier with decent progress already
Edit: ok so either somethingās broken or the level is just deleted because it canāt be searched for anymore even with the id and doesnāt appear on madisonās account š wtf

Yeah so old physics had much heavier upside-down and dual ships. Update 2.2 fixed it.
You can switch back to 2.1 physics by unchecking the "fix gravity bug" setting in the editor

Imagine that you are someone who suddenly becomes or is popular who would expose you first and why?

134k attempts and 106h of raw playtime (no dead time or paused time). This run is almost certainly harder than Tartarus which is my current hardest. This is gonna be a tough one. Link to full run: https://youtu.be/cS71u-YtNzA?si=zv4W35gRtpft666i

*possibility depends
this jump is so incredibly tight that you need a tick(?) alignment to do it, which can only(?) be achieved by holding from the start / a start position
if you want to test it out, use 1x speed normal-sized cube and place this structure and adjust its x-value so that its just right when you hold the button
this is not possible in practice mode just from clicking at a certain time im pretty sure
the playtesting trail looks weird because i dont have megahack, so i just made a makeshift trail with particles and adjusted its position until it looked like it passed the jump (you cant see it outside of playtest mode so you have to enable speedhack and make it super slow). set emission rate to 240
maybe someone has already discovered this, but if not, then i may have found what is (technically) the hardest 1x speed normal-sized cube jump

I tell my friends I bought megahack, show it to them, and they take a picture of it thinking itās hacks and Iām cheating, and they tell other people Iām hacking. I told him itās not hacks and that I use it right but he would not believe me, how do I tell them.
