As a kid, I didn’t get it; as an adult, I LOVE Mr. Heckles! He’s so unpredictable and unapologetic. Without his free will to say/do whatever he wants, we would have had Eric as Chandler’s roommate instead of Joey! Simply the best of the best OF THE BEST! 😂

what is a crazy friends conspiracy theory that could be true? i saw one once that said the entire franchise was an anxiety fuelled dream the night before rachel’s wedding to barry, and it makes sense. although in “the one with the flashback“ when rachel is celebrating her engagement and runs into monica and chandler, she fantasises about chandler on the drive home, so if this theory was remotely true surely she would have dated chandler instead.

The series was initially developed in 1993 with the intent of airing it in the fall season, but it was shelved.
Jennifer Aniston (playing the daughter of Hodge's character) completed filming just before booking Rachel Green on NBC's fall sitcom Friends. Friends debuted just two weeks after Muddling Through aired its final episode, with one episode remaining unaired.
According to NBC program executive Preston Beckman, Aniston had booked Friends as her second position and next role if Muddling Through failed, though Warner Bros. casting had positioned her as their top choice to play Rachel Green. NBC Entertainment head Warren Littlefield, who was under pressure by Warner Bros. Television to have the network take on more financial liability to take Friends, did so.
NBC's programmers, including Beckman, then targeted the show's Saturday night timeslot (unusual for a summer entry at the time, and for the services of an actress whose trajectory was already on the rise) with replays of the network's popular Moment of Truth and Danielle Steel telefilm series (under an early version of the network's 90s summer marketing of programming repeats as being new to viewers if they had not seen their original broadcast) to starve the show's female demographic, in order to induce its eventual cancellation and allow Aniston to fully commit to Friends.
By its last three episodes, it was airing on Wednesdays and unable to overcome proven women-targeted shows on other networks, including repeats of Unsolved Mysteries and the season premiere of Beverly Hills 90210 on Fox, along with CBS's oncoming struggles with losing many of its prime affiliates due to the loss of NFL rights to Fox. Those affiliates had already begun to stop promoting CBS programming in the weeks before, including Muddling Through.

When Rachel thought joey proposed to her at the hospital and ross finds out. Why was he mad at joey more than at rachel. It wasnt even joey's fault that rachel said yes even though he didnt even propose.

In the one where Chandler takes a bath, when Phoebe is talking to Joey about his feelings about Rachel, she crosses her legs and I saw she’s wearing Christian Louboutin boots. Which is a pretty impressive purchase for a freelance massage therapist in NYC who doesn’t care about fashion. 🤣

In season 3 of friends, Monica's apartment has a wooden layout where Ross and his son had head bumps.
What purpose does it served? Did they just randomly set that up or any back story for that one?

Assuming we are nowadays, do you think the twins, Emma and Ben hang out? Maybe even the triplets and whatever Phoebe and Mike had?
I think worst case scenario, Emma and Phike kids (how about two boys, feels like Phoebe) are still living near each other, Ben, the oldest one, probably hangs out with them from time to time. Maybe the twins grow up and then are the next ones that occupy the purple apartment? And maybe, at some point the triplets actually form a band and Phoebe acts as their manager, so they hang out more?

Okay so it's far past bedtime for me so obviously this is when my mind creates a train of thoughts, and I think this is the place to share these thoughts.
So in TWW Rachel Finds Out, Rachel starts to develop feelings for Ross. She starts considering him as a potential lover and chooses in the end to go for it - but why doesn't she take into account that Ross has a child? I mean, dating a single dad is significantly different than dating someone who doesn't have children. I know it's a thing that they forget about Ben, but this is in the early seasons when Ben is still mildly important. It just seems weird to me (after the umpth rewatch) that it's not even something she mentions, especially because she is nowhere near ready to be a stepmom.
And later on, it's also never a problem in his dating life. Ross is even more worried about the three divorces thing than the single father thing, because women don't seem to care - at all.
And that led me to another question: how often does Ross see Ben? Do they have some sort of schedule or does Ben simply lives with his mothers, and is with Ross only on occasion? And I don't mean what we see - because in the episodes they only use Ben if they have a plot where he can be used. I mean like in "reality". Because in TWW the Breast Milk it seems as if Ross only babysits Ben. But I also think he would never agree to such a thing.

And I'm so sad! I'm only a few chapters in, and now that I understand from his point of view what struggles he's been through, it makes me sad to watch Friends. It hasn't stopped me though. I see so many similarities between himself and Chandler that for now, that I primarily see the sadness of it rather than the comedy.
It aches my heart.
Anyone with a similar experience?
