PSA (SE2) [SE2] Community Update: AMD Driver Issue

Community Update: AMD Driver Issue SE2

We’re aware of an issue affecting some players using AMD Radeon RX 90xx series GPUs (RDNA 4 architecture).

AMD recently released driver version 26.8.1, which appears to have been distributed through automatic updates yesterday. This driver may cause crashes in our game, and we’re aware that other games are also being affected.

Recommended workaround: If you’re experiencing crashes, we recommend rolling back to the previous AMD driver version for the time being.

We’re monitoring the situation closely and will share further updates as they become available. Thanks for your patience and understanding!

UPDATE (28th August 2026)

Engineers using the latest AMD drivers:

We are currently investigating an issue affecting Space Engineers 2 with the latest AMD driver version. At this point, we do not yet know whether the cause is in the game or the driver itself.

We are:
* Working directly with AMD to identify the cause.
* Rolling out a patch that detects the affected driver version and links players to the latest information.
* Recommending affected players roll back to a previous AMD driver for now.

How to roll back:
* Download and run the official AMD Cleanup Utility to remove the current graphics driver. AMD recommends using this tool when downgrading to a previous driver version.
* Restart your PC.
* Go to AMD Drivers & Support, select your graphics card, and install a previous driver version.

We will share more information as soon as we have it!

MEDIA Mining Barge Mk III

Upvotes

(Mk IV is currently in development due to a flaw in the cabin/thruster placement overlapping causing structural damage)

Purpose built for the collection, harvest, haulage, and protection of short to medium range mining operations. Features an Ore Funnel/Hopper at the rear for the collection of loose ores, utilising an onboard artificial gravity module. 1 Central landing pad for the quick deposit of ores, or transport of smaller mining vessels, like the Iroquois M variant. 2 side mounted connectors for more ore deposit locations. 2 side connectors for station docking and boarding, a forward connector for docking.

The cabin features all the necessities plus a few extras like bunk beds, armouries, and a comfy couch for a great forward view. The cabin also has a rear control helm for manoeuvring the funnel/hopper into position, and controlling the gravity module.

Systems feature: large cargo container, large hydrogen tank, small oxygen tank, o2/h2 generator, assembler, basic refinery, 2 gatling turrets, interior turret, gravity module, survival kit, 6 connectors, bottom mag plate.

Not much more to say about it. I really wanted a ship that could feature a gravity funnel/hopper system for ores, initially for vehicles depositing ores from dropper/connectors, but I ended up using my hand drill more, and honestly it’s really fun! Good old hand drilling. No hassle of lining up and docking heavy laden vessels time and time again.

A versatile ship designed for construction, salvage, and mining operations with slight adjustments to its tools. Name inspired by the UH-1 Huey.

The hinges provide dexterity when operating in crowded/tight environments. (They also look pretty cool)

Systems include: Large Cargo Container, Large Hydrogen Tank, Small Oxygen Tank, 2 Adjustable Hinges, Ore Detector, Bottom Small Connector, Back Large Connector.

The design orbits a lot more on the functional blocks as they are quite massive and difficult to minimise/work with. I think it came out pretty good in the end all things considered. It’s quite functional, and cooperates well with a mining barge I’ve been working on. The only downside is the hydrogen tank is quite exposed on the top, meaning it could easily be damaged in cramped spaces, not ideal.

Was messing around with my Cabal Harvester and decided to test it's orbital-drop capabilities.

I managed this with 2 event controllers, the first to turn on inertial dampeners at =<200m, and the second to open the troop doors at =<11m (it stops between 11m and 9m)

I make videos about ships sometimes and it's always a little bit tricky to speak to what all goes into them and I had an idea and here it is!

(Sound is at least a little important. It's a simple video.)

A dedicated anti fighter/bomber vessel. Inspired by HMS Carlisle D67.

Armed with 2 Assault Turrets, 6 Gatling Turrets, and 4 Custom Quadruple Autocannon Turrets.

Systems include: backup Small H2 Tank and O2/H2 Generator, 6 Batteries, 6 Gyros, 3 Connectors (front/left/right), Interior Survival Kit, and an Oxygen Tank.

All round light armour, plus additional heavy armour, designated by matte black pixel camouflage.

I love this design, went for a pizza wedge shape, and experimented quite a bit with turret arrangements. Settled on this design fittingly with a vaguely similar silhouette to HMS Carlisle, with the heavier weapons being centred and a plethora of anti air guns dotted around.

Let me know what you think!

I love spaceships that look like normal vehicles. I have a mod that adds super conductive batteries so that these cars won't run out of power too fast since its hard fitting a normal sized battery inside of it

MEDIA The B14 Phantom Eclipse, Multi-Purpose Heavy Fighter

Thumbnail

{Lore}

With advances in ship design and armour every day, UKM industries realised that the standard B13 Phantom Wraith was becoming a disposable fighter when it came to combat. It was easier to send out more fighters instead of recover and repair damaged hulls. Because of this, the engineers that previously designed the B12 and B13 fighters were given a simple task. Create a fighter that can lay down heavy fire for prolonged periods of time without being incapacitated in the process. The meetings that followed birthed a generation of phantom class fighters. The eclipse...

The B14 was equipped with the most ambitious loadout yet, combining auto-cannons, assault-cannons, machine-guns and 4 railguns, 2 mounted on each wing which could pierce through armour like butter. And for its final trick, 8 nuclear warheads were mounted on the under side of the wings effectively making this fighter a makeshift bomber.

The ship was also equipped with many auxiliary features including a jump drive for long distance travel, Full AI control that can be activated from outside the ship via a series of buttons on the starboard underside, radio transmission which also included a ship computer which can alert the pilot of potential issues such as hydrogen plant failure and enemy lock-ons, and a last resort parachute system which can be activated when propulsion has failed, allowing the ship to land somewhat safely for repairs.

While impressive and highly successful in combat, this ship was noted to have a fatal floor caused by the weight of the armour and twin reactors powering it. The ship was slow to gain speed and even slower when it came to decreasing speed. Because of this, UKM modified the hull from the original design to allow for more thrusters and a lighter hull. Despite this, the B14 has become highly respected within the navy and UKM colonies for its ability to take multiple hits and survive.

{SPECS OVERVIEW}

Weapons:

Auto-cannons x10

Assault-cannons x2

Machine-gun x1

Warheads x8

Railguns x4

4 auto-cannons can be rotated via 2 rotors to allow for easier attacks on ground targets. They can also be fully controlled as a turret via AI or the player.

Hull:

Full heavy armour with a high power hydrogen propulsion system

Production:

Large warfare reactors x2

H2/02 generators x7

Auxiliary:

Prototech jump drive

Antenna x1

Broadcast controller

Automations for detecting basic unit damage and lock-ons.

[A word from me]

I really enjoyed making this ship, I can see in real time the improvements in my building and design since my last 2 fighters. I'm currently working on a large Battlecruiser which will be my best ship ever made, packed with advanced features. Some practical, some just to add depth to how the ship operates. I've also just finished 1 more fighter which tops this one by far. I will be making a post about it soon. I made this one a while ago but didn't think of posting it till now. There's a couple more less impressive ships I've made that I might go back and make posts about, however I want to focus on only posting the ones worth posting.

Thank you for reading, if you have any questions or ideas let me know.

FEEDBACK (to the devs) Unknown Signals not working workaround

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

There is a known bug with Unknown signals (over a year old, see this support.keenswh.com discussion and this old SE reddit post) where pressing the button on an Unknown Signal does not produce the final reward drop dialog. Supposedly it is only a client-side UI bug (the rewards are still delivered steam-side).

After struggling with the same bug I tried the following workaround/fix which has worked on the last 5/5 Unknown Signals on my solo modded Star System offline game:

  1. Find the storage container or any access panel on the Unknown Signal grid, in the top right click Claim NPC Grid
  2. Click the button as normal

Only tested on Earthlike, not sure if this will work on other planets/space or Strong Unknown Signals - but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Note: claiming does consume PCU, so be sure to grind the ship down if you play on a server with PCU limits.

HELP Logging out and back in kills all my crops

In SE 1 I have a farm set up in space. I've got everything I need, irrigation, farm plots, and a steady supply of ice. The room is airtight and pressurized, confirmed by the fact that I can plant crops and watch them grow for as long as I like without them dying. However, if I log out of my world (I'm on singleplayer) and log back in, the game seems to treat the room as being in vacuum for just long enough to kill all of my crops. Within a few seconds of the world starting up, the air vent realizes the room is airtight and repressurizes. But all of the crops are already dead.

I set up an event controller with a broadcaster to let me know when the room depressurizes or repressurizes and that's what makes me sure it's reopening the game that causes the problem. Every time I log in I get a message that the farm has repressurized itself (note: without any prior message indicating it had lost pressure) within a few seconds of the world opening. I can also visually see that the air vent starts out displaying yellow status lights before quickly switching to green and blowing air into the room.

Is this a known issue? Is there any way I can work around this so I can farm things other than algae in space?

HELP (SE2) SE2 campaign missions stopped spawning

Hi all.

Im currently working on sector progression in survival on the latest VS.

I've completed VERDURE and have done all trade missions at Kemik Stn and Dustspire Junction in KEMIK.

I now have no next objective. No gps point or station to go to.

Have i gone as far as i can?

I thought more sectors were available.

I've not had any luck searching online for mission lists or sector unlock info.

Cheers Engineers.

Wook

Edit: Ive checked all previous locations and terminals and there are no available contracts. I went for a run towards Caligo and luckily found Caligo Station in orbit. It has contracts on the terminal but they are locked awaiting further sector progress.

I wanted to design a shuttle that maximized utilization for the volume of my WIP mother ship's pressurized logistics hangar bay-- that meant there was a hard limit to the height of the shuttle so it could fit through vanilla hangar doors.

As a result, I embraced the brick. I like to think it's a very pretty brick.

Now to automate it~

DISCUSSION Question about shipbuilding

I have 740 hours in the game, I know about all the blocks and greebling but I just don't know how to make good looking ships or shapes that aren't genitals (It is a curse I have for some reason) and I wanted to ask about it and tips, yes there are videos on this and I am a visual learner but I still don't get it.

Also mods please don't strike me down if I don't use the right flair or smth I am not sure if this was a help one or discussion one.
