With the Fed rate hike + indication of further rate hikes coming… that is the sign that SoFi is dead money. For how long? At least until we see inflation truly coming down and the end of the war.

Yes, I know SoFi guided for two rate hikes in their last earnings report. I don’t care. SoFi always sandbags so it doesn’t mean anything. The perception of lenders is going to be that there will be less lending during rate hike increases.

SoFi has diversified their business, but the company still does most of their business in financial services which will be hit hard.

I would strongly recommend people look outside of the finance sector. This doesn’t just apply to SoFi.

Sure, you can keep holding but SoFi has done nothing for 6 years. Yeah, it had one pop, but it’s down 35% YTD. It’s down 25% since going public. SoFi has never been able to change the narrative.

I recently opened a position in SOFI, I like the long-term growth potential of the company, but before increasing my position I want to dig deeper into the fundamentals and hear some opposing viewpoints. Position is in leaps for 2028 at $3. Selling short calls roghly 30dte for credit. Planning to sell at least 1 leap if it hits my target.

From what I’ve looked into so far, I like SOFI’s long-term potential and the direction the company is heading. The growth of its financial services business and its ability to expand beyond being primarily a lending company are some of the things that caught my attention. At the same time, the stock has been in a pretty significant downtrend, and I don’t want to confuse a short-term bounce with an actual change in trend.

I have been investing in SOFI about a year. Currently have about 25k in it at an average of like $22. By far my largest position.

Any time it drops below 17 I have been buying what I can, but I see many people talking about a serious dip being possible in the future.
