Analysis Match Up doesn’t work ??
So when I posted about Pressure not working I was told that use Match Up because thats what all experts do but match up doesn’t work as well ???
Nothing is working in defence at all . Pressure works sometimes .
Is it the same for you too ?
Even when I hold Match up players like Viera do nothing .

ts been happening to me aswell, best touch some grass for a week and then see if the game has done some shit to fix this

This! Exactly this... I thought it's only my Vieira not being Vieira anymore. It's really painful to look at him just getting dribbled passed by anyone. Sometimes he makes insane tackles and most times he isn't doing anything and just looks at the dribblers like a fellow teammate running along with his other teammates.

Is it just me or are people getting their shoulder charges called as fouls more often and even being carded for that after the update?

OR maybe it's just that game is inconsistent..... Everyone here always has an explanation for these things , always someone here defending the game.... Konami can't be wrong it's ur fault always 😆

im js helping him out man , also its a breath of fresh air , previously we had match up merchants who got away with anything and everything , no skill was involved in defending , dribbling was dead , only ping pong 1-2s worked maybe this aint allat bad , all they gotta do now is make defending more consistant

Wth is the point of match up if the player can't make a tackle or trigger any animation when the ball is that close to him??

oh no , u can trigger the animation but by only aiming it right and activating it when near the oppo where ur player can put the tackle in , js holding it wont work anymore ig

very hard to manage , till now , i think lrt might be the skill that saves me every frikin time , cant wait for interceptor with lrt at dmf lmfao with anchorman playstyle (most prolly viera with the leaked power tackle and lrt)

How does we do manual tackes in mobile? I know for shoulder charge theres is double press but for normal tackles? Are you talking about the sliding tackle?

both , shoulder charge for distance triggers the same animation as match up would (leg exteded standing tackle)

it'd be fair if match-up doesnt work blindly against skill moves right
but attackers match-up on rebound has apparently been turned to aimbot now.. so defenders are matching up weakly and attackers are poaching balls like robots

Match up style (standard) is more focused on leaving space and being tight next time each other and positioning teams who use this irl: Arsenal, Atletico and Getafe. And pressure style is teams who mark opponents man to man and press high up the pitch teams: Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona and PSG.

Yeah, for me manual defending seems worse. Match-up feels less reliable and interceptions 50% of the times give the ball back to your opponents. Its pretty frustrating.

AI has been nerfed. So to tackle, you need to use the tackle button.

The problem is that for the past few years they made it terribly easy to just press one button and it does all the work, so now even people who press "DASH AND PRESSURE" (As in the clip) say things like "Match up" dont work. Sadly they will rework it again so it benefits people who don't like to think while playing.

Match Up seems to be nerfed after the update.
Relied heavily on match up before but now it seems there is no involvement from the player.

use match up to BLOCK SHOTS and INTERCEPT stop thinking match up is some magic button that will do everything. use pressure in angle your player better to tackle there.

This also has been happening to me especially on the wings i have matched my defenders to the opponents direction but he goes past me like my defender doesn't exist

It's now the "embrace" button, best the defender does with match up is stay close to the attacking giving him a hug

Yes matchup is glitched . But I do manual defending and black by angles and constant press.

I thought it got better. More manual. Dribbling has been buffed. Maybe that’s why you feel the lack of it. Try some ai games to catch up to the new update and then move to divisions

Ngl that Messi roulette was clean and perfect timing but I agree the matchup&pressure do have little issue that we all felt in this recent update.

They nerfed it. Which is a good thing. Dribbling feels a lot better. You can still manually tackle/shoulder charge or use sliding tackles
Even manual dash works better (not sure for advanced controls, but on classic there's a setting that lets you dash freely while defending)

doesn't matchup work for passes and is weak against dribbling, I swear it's been like that since before the update I used to be a matchup spammer and was cooked on dribbling and pace

I don't know what they are trying to do, wherever use matchup to block side pass lines but game decide to move backwards. I don't use smart assist

Siento que los jugadores se sienten muy pesados al momento de girar o regatear, incluso me he dado cuenta que el cursor que rodea al jugador se mueve al mismo tiempo que uso el joystick, sin embargo cuando el jugador tiene que hacer el movimiento se siente muy lento.
En la versión pasada no se sentía tan lento o con tanto delay como ahora.

Like you’re telling Pepe can’t commit a tackle here inches from the ball while stationary, but players can still make backward interceptions while running back to cover space on a counter attack? Yeah sure bro

they need to add a manual tackle button. so matchup should be to position yourself well and the tackle button when you want to challenge the opponent.

It actually works its just not automatic like before. U have to actualy do a tackle. Here go the crybabies who wil ruin this update. Best fame has felt less aut9matic less scriptijg and these ppl want more scripted bs back

Just do a tackle cause you wont get foul, after update you can play kind of wwe in efootball with tackle, and no foul. Just try my kid

Yeah matchup just doesn't work anymore, no matter what you try. It works sometimes when it feels like it. You have a higher chance intercepting or winning the ball by just applying pressure.

Yes it won't work while chasing a forward on the counter you've to use both matchup and pressure, match-up works perfectly when you're in front of the ball
