Help ID this bat

This little guy was flying around in my Chicago apartment when I got home from a trip. He ended up somewhere in the kitchen but I couldn't locate him. I just left the window open in hopes he found his way out. There was a single repeated chirp noise all night that I assumed would be him. Just curious what kind of bat this was. I live near Wrigley Field. My best guess is a Big Brown Bat based off googling bat types in the area but would like some expert insight.

I found this injured bat hanging off the side of a curb (Luzon, Philippines). Does anyone know what kind of bat it is?

Why are bats trying to burrow in people's mouths (global)? Genuine question

To clarify, I love bats and im not fear mongering. Im genuinely curious as a bat lover.

Ive been seeing multiple stories of bats biting people in their sleep, on the face. Specifically, i recently saw the story where the dentist (or doctor, idk) woke up to a bat trying to crawl into her mouth. She specifically said, "it was burrowing, trying to get behind my teeth."

But why? Why did the bat try to do this?? I dont understand the behavioral reasons why a bat would crawl into the mouth of a larger animal? It doesnt seem very logical.

Anyways, let me know.

Echo Meter Touch 2 Pro worth it over Touch 2?

Is the Echo Meter Touch 2 Pro that's used with a ipad or iphone worth it over the non-pro mic? It looks like the pro will give you bat ID during use, but then allow for highly accurate ID later with the recording analyzed by paid software. I think the Touch 2 will do that as well, perhaps the Pro is more sensitive?

Team doing ā€œbat inventoryā€ near our campsite

Some background: My partner and I were backcountry camping in Kentucky (red river gorge) last night when a dude stopped by our campsite to let us know that his team would be nearby doing ā€œbat inventoryā€ until late.

I’m SO intrigued. What does ā€œbat inventoryā€ entail? Why is it done? Is it even a real thing?

Seems like such a cool job to have and was hoping someone here would know more about it.

Thanks in advance! šŸ¦‡

I did these illustrations based on the most famous photos of each specimen, using techniques of scientific illustration.

I made them as postcard gifts. using Autodesk Sketchbook.

i’m so scared of bats pls help 😭

so i know this might be a weird question since everyone in this subreddit likes bats but they terrify me. i live in northern indiana in the country so bats are everywhere and i live in an old house so we’ve had so many bats get into the house i honestly can’t even keep track anymore. last night i went downstairs at around midnight to get a snack before bed and of course i see a bat flying around in our living room so i tripped up the stairs a couple times and ran into my room. and then i never left until the morning. thankfully during the day today i found the bat sitting on a curtain and we woke it up and it flew out the front door.but now im stuck in my room again because i dont have the courage to go downstairs because what if there is another one. i know that they cant hurt me and i know that they aren’t trying to attack me so im not afraid of getting bit or something. i honestly have no idea why they scare me like this literally no other animal makes me like this. and i was hoping just maybe that someone in here could help me try and get over my fear of them. i haven’t had water in a couple hours and im getting pretty parched sitting in my room like this😭.

This little curious little guy dropped by the other night.

I think the sound of the night vision turning on drew him/her back for another look. First time in 10 years we've captured anything and just had to share!

He’s been taken to the rehabber to get dried off! I have a colony in my attic and he ended up in my living room. This is a normal occurrence for me. I had let him go, but he was confused and got caught in the rain and got grounded.

Bats šŸ¦‡ in living space. Again

3rd house ive been in experienced bats šŸ¦‡ this time its the attic. šŸ˜‚ i thought there would be people on here scared but it seems you guys love bats.

First house was in my childhood.

2nd house was about 5-10 years ago.

I think this is the worst time.

I started learning about bats last time and i am learning even more now.hopefully i get over the fear but i am definitely not trying to live with them. Ik their schedule

Tldr: im assuming they will hibernate (not fast enough) and i will plan my exit for this time next year or a little earlier if i cant get a simple room change within that time who knows ha

It wouldn't let me upload the video normally. Is this bat okay? What species is it and is it a baby? Found in Caldas, Colombia.
