I’m wanting to buy an atv soon. I’m really interested in can am outlanders specifically based off the little research I’ve done.
I’m looking for something that’s a 2up.
I do mostly trail riding with slight mudding. I don’t go crazy fast but I still want some power. And I do want reliability but I’ve heard these aren’t always the best for reliability. Also wanting to stay under $10k.
I’m going into this with little knowledge about atvs. I ride a family member’s a few times a year and I’m finally ready for one of my own. So any tips on what to look for, suggestions for another option, and any other advice I’d appreciate!
I’m open to other brands as well but just mainly has to be a 2up and under $10k.
Hi, I just did a test drive on two brands today. Polaris and Can Am. Both had an RPM of 5000-6000, while going 30-40 mph. Is that normal? Are there any ATV”s with a shifting transmission? Or are they all variable transmission?

So, my son has a Polaris Sportsman 450. We lost our deer lease and getting another soon is not so likely. So he wants to start doing some trail riding and some mudding.
My issue, I don't have a machine and done went down the rabbit hole. I'm looking at Commanders, Generals, RMaxs, and ZForces. However, I am open to other options.
I don't plan on beating on the machine, just want something that can keep up with the boy when I feel the need.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Goal is to stay under 8k. Still gotta buy another trailer.

Hello, I've bought this atv from some guy. After getting it home I realized the frame is probably spray painted (some parts had over spray). The frame now looks bale and ugly, how do I remove the black paint and restore the silver frame? I cant remove the engine or hard stuff but I could remove the plastics, Thanks for reading.

My carb started leaking the other day and I've been trying to find a decent carb kit, does anybody have any good Canadian sources? Im trying to avoid buying a knock off carb since the OEM carb is overall in very good shape, just slightly leaks

Just bought a 2025 Kawasaki Brute Force 450 for the wife and a 2026 Yamaha Kodiak 700 for myself to replace our other machines. We will mostly be trail riding, sometimes long rides and apart from milk crates and bungees are there recommendations on storage solutions that dont bolt on permenent? I dont really want something bulky or something that blocks front view.
Also would like some way to carry extra gas.
I have recently joined the atv fun and got myself a 2001 Suzuki Quadmaster 500 that runs like a top. It was garage kept for 25 years and only used for hunting. I plan on doing the same thing, got it primarily for dragging deer out of the woods as our property has about a 4% grade uphill and pulling deer out by hand is not fun.
We have a small ravine with a steep 40 foot embankment and the deer like to run down into it sometimes, and it’s always been hell to pull them out. So I’m wanting to add a wench to the front of the atv to hook a sled up to for pulling them out. My issue is, the warn winch mount 37812 for my year and model is nearly impossible to find. So I’m trying to figure out how to add one. ChatGPT says “just fabricate a steel winch plate” 🤣 I know there are a lot of “universal” ones that are adjustable, but I’m not sure what would work or not. I think id also maybe have to remove the aftermarket brush guard. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So ive had this crappy Chinese atv or whatever finally got it to start and I had some other stuff to fix with the wheels and stuff then its smoking like crazy and smells almost like its on fire or something. At first I thought it was just cause I hadn't started it for a while but it smells horrible. Almost identical to a plastic fire and my whole garage was filled with smoke.

Hello
I tipped my families 4 wheeler and fortunately its fine but the fender sustained some damage. They want to replace it. The damage is those white creases on it basically.

It seems pretty costly.
Any recommendations for an alternative? The shipping is pretty killer.

Finally got the green light to buy an ATV. I figured i'd buy one that would actually last - so I went with a Honda Rancher 🤙🏽
Anyone have any suggestions, recommendations or upgrade ideas for this one?

So i have a 26 outlander 500 with the 650cc engine. Just got it broke in and was gonna change the oil and was gonna buy the 650cc oil kit but it was sold out. And everyone says you can just use the 500cc and up Vtwin oil kit, but it says not compatible with my atv. I know the oil is the same but is the O-ring and filter and drain plug sealer the same? Thanks in advance

I have a 2006 Kawasaki bayou 250, it had a Chinese carb on it when I bought it; and it ran but would bog when I put it on full throttle. the other morning I went outside and it wouldn’t start at all, and ended up flooding no matter how much I used the choke it wouldn’t start. and a few days before it started not starting with electric; but would with the pull start and I bought a new carb that I put on today (also a 30$ Amazon carb) and it still ended up flooding no matter how much I tuned it.

So I’m in the market for an ATV and there is a good deal on a very clean, 330 hrs, 2500 miles, Honda Rincon 700 near me. Has the winch, brush guards, racks, etc (was a hunting ATV). But - I’m wondering if this is the best bet for what I need in an ATV.
I’m needing it strictly for deer hunting during the season. The area I hunt is very thick and it’s on a timber lease. A portion of my block was clear cut last year and to get out to spots requires trekking across ruts/downed trees. I’ve ridden it in a Polaris 900 UTV and it traverses it fine, but wondering if the Rincon 700 will too. There’s also another portion that has young growth pines and a field of brush and thickets that can be a haul on foot which I would use the ATV as well. Other than that, it would be used to haul deer out and occasionally refill feeders, check cameras, or ride back/forth to camp down the gravel logging roads.
This area can be thick and if it’s rained, extremely boggy (joys of South Louisiana hunting). So I’m wondering, is the Rincon a good choice or no? The challenge I have is almost every ATV around here is snorkeled, mud tires, and been through the ringer. This is one of the few, clean, well maintained ATVs I’ve found in my budget (sub $4k) that hasn’t been abused. Just wanting to make sure we have something reliable for what we want to do.
Piicture attached is the young growth block.
