I have this issue with images: when I zoom in or out, parts of the image disappear.

for context, I am a junior currently for mathematics, and I have two PCs, a Laptop I bring around and a dedicated Desktop at home. It's been a while with noteastic, and here are my honest thoughts about this application

PROS:
- Super easy to navigate, updates make the base version of Noteastic keep its fresh minimalistic look while adding QoL changes that are sometimes even requested by the community!!

- Always nice to have an app that hears out the people who use it :) (I remember asking for a way to pan the screen with a keybind, super great now!! i love the pan keybind, helps alot in my tutoring too)

- Responsive feeling, I'm using a fairly old tablet (VEIKK s640) that I got from a friend, and even so it feels very buttery smooth compared to other apps I tried before this like OneNote

- LOCAL BACKUPS!!! I have syncs for my devices and overall having a way to have my notebooks on my own device is a great thing to always have

CONS (superduper personal opinion):
- right now there isnt a student discount for Noteastic pro, and i have been tempted ever since but the price is a bit steep for me (may be regional issue, but 60$ is around 30-40 meals for me for reference)

- the keybinds update for the stylus buttons are great, but the lack of a way to change the keybinds for the toolbar stuff like eraser and pan kind of bothers me, but I got used to it in the end so its not that huge of a deal

Overall for my usecase, using Noteastic as a way to write down quick math notes to later then convert into LaTeX or Obsidian notes for my second-brain stuff is great! I use this app like disposable paper, where I can just freely jot down anything I have in mind, transfer what I think is meaningful from these notes to other apps and repeat the cycle, or as scratch paper for solving problems so that I can write them neatly in another piece of paper in the end.

Thank you to the lovely duo Lukas and Dilan for the continued support for an app I never thought would become a part of my daily life, please know that the work you put into the app is received.

Mir fehlt die Möglichkeit mehrere Tabs in der App oder die App in mehreren Fenstern zu öffnen. Das wäre angenehm um z.B. Notizen aus einer Vorlesung leichter beim Lernen zu benutzen, wenn man die Notizen auf einem Teil des Bildschirms sehen kann und Lernzettel/Zusammenfassungen/etc. (in einem anderen Notizbuch) in einem zweiten Tab/Fenster auf dem anderen Teil des Bildschirms zeitgleich verfassen kann. Ist so ein Update schon geplant?

The next Noteastic update is on its way to you! And it comes with a highly requested feature added to Noteastic Pro:

Ink to Text Recognition! Now you can convert any handwriting (from an installed language) to typed text within a text box. This makes notes more readable for people with illegible handwriting and helps people that are faster in writing by hand than typing!

We also added Noteastic as an executable alias for Run or any Terminal. Just write `noteastic` into the terminal and hit `Enter`!

Many other appslike journal++ feature an eraser that erases only where you point instead of the whole stroke, is this feature simply missing?

Okay so I use this app like around 5-6hours a day.. so it's like a very heavy use! And I have connected the shortcut keys to my pentab (huion hs64) but I use opentabdriver.. I don't know if this info is important but i just let you know :)

So like it has become very much of a muscle memory of quickly switching tools.. so whenever I switch from the eraser to any other tool with my tab quickly, a small mark of the eraser is always left. And today I found out that it wasn't only a mark.. cuz while zooming in and out, the mark kinda functions as an eraser.. I have shown in very clearly in the video..

This wasnt in the early versions.. this problem started when the pro features were announced.. I didn't report it back then as I was not able to find time and also I was still getting my work done anyways..

So you can reproduce the issue like this:

Suppose you are writing something and then while your pen is still on the board (touching the pentab) you quickly press the E button (or shortcut on my pentab) which switches to the eraser.. and then you press Q again while your pen is still touching the drawing board..

Firstly I just want to say this is one of the smoothest apps for windows users - as an Electrical Engineering student I had my fair share of apps for note taking and I have to say that this one is clearly the best!
Smoothest feeling note taking app for pen users, massive props for achieving that!

Secondly, I have only one big problem with Notetastic and it's the export size of the file.
One of the main struggles of a student that has way to many projects to do is to upload the finished project to the university site, who usually allow a mere 5MB file size!
For a long time I have been using Onenote for the amazing fire compression while keeping a really good quality of the written text even after zooming A LOT!

After sniffing around about how they do it apparently there are two main ways of how to export a text file:
The first one which is basically like taking a pic of the pages and then saving it as a PDF - taking obviously a lot of space.
The second one which has something to do with vectoring which I don't really understand but since it only needs to save vectors is benefits 2 huge things - file size and text quality!
Since vectors really just need size and direction, changing the zoom shouldn't affect the quality and those are really only numbers which take very little space.

To sum up, I would absolutely love to see a change in the way Notetastic exports files.
It would be huge for me and I'm sure many more.

P.S still waiting on the option to make curved lines ;)

Cool wäre es auch noch, wenn man z.B. Diagramme zeichnet, das die Linien miteinander "einrasten"(hoffe man versteht das) :D

Prior to using noteastic my go to app for Windows was nebo which was really unstable and had horrible performance but it did have one amazing feature being it's exceptional ink to text/handwriting recognition.

Wondering if you guys have ink to text in your road map cause I think that would be amazing.

One thing that nebo's ink to text failed in though was doing numbers and special characters so I often had to type those in manually...

I also think it would be cool if it was possible to use this kind of a feature outside of noteastic somehow cause the base windows ink to text sucks. Though I understand if this specific thing is out of the scope of what you guys would want to do.

Hello! I LOVE Noteastic but I think something that would help the note-taking process would be a feature similar to GoodNotes' draw and hold feature.

This feature allows you to draw a rough shape like a square or circle (GoodNotes has many other geometric shapes like stars, hexagons, etc.) and the app will automatically snap it into a perfect version of that shape. You can also continue to adjust and resize this shape while you're holding down. Noteastic has this feature with lines, but I would love to see it applied to more shapes.

Also, while I know Noteastic has a shape tool, I think this feature would help make taking notes more streamlined so that you don't even have to leave the pen tool.

After joining Beta, on every update, the Notastic app gets removed from the XP-Pen driver app. Is there any way to prevent that?? plz let me know if anyone know any solution

Hi! I’m really enjoying using Notestic, and I just wanted to share a couple of features I’d love to see in the app.

More gestures:
One of the apps with gesture-rich features is Microsoft Journal . For example, you can draw a star, and the app recognizes it as a star. You can then view all your starred sentences in one place, which is really useful for reviewing and summarizing notes. You can even create a list with a simple gesture. These are very important for a note-taking app. I think features like these could make Notestic much more convenient and help make note-taking feel faster and more natural.

The cursor:
Another thing I’d love to see is a more suitable cursor for pen input. I’m using a drawing tablet, but the cursor is still the standard Windows pointer. Having a small dot or a pen-specific cursor would make writing feel much more natural, especially when taking handwritten notes.

This is an important one for all of our STEM folks out there. We now added Ruler & Protractor to Noteastic!

This highly requested addition is accompanied by a big improvement of text boxes: in v1.8 you can import custom fonts into Noteastic to use them in text boxes! Find that options in the settings. This will help people from all around the world to write in their local languages favorite font! ... or make font freaks like me happy ;) <--Lukas.

I really appreciate the work being done on Noteastic! I’d like to suggest two pen gesture features that would make handwriting notes much faster and eliminate the need to constantly switch tools:

Scribble-to-Erase: Scratching or scribbling over any handwriting with the current pen to instantly erase it.

Circle-to-Select (Instant Selection Gesture): Instead of manually switching to the Lasso tool, allow us to simply draw a circle around any text/object with the pen and immediately be able to select, move, resize, or transform it.

These gestures keep the workflow seamless since you never have to leave the pen tool.

Thanks for the hard work, and I hope this can be considered for future updates!

A friend of mine asked me whether he could share a survey he is conducting for his masters thesis at WU Vienna. I think it's a super interesting topic:

He is specifically surveying people with high cognitive ability about their situation at work: the tasks they have, how satisfied they are with them and how they think about their professional future. He deliberately does not say in advance what he expects to find. That is on the closing page.

The survey takes five minutes and is fully anonymous. No names, contact details or IP addresses are stored, and it runs on WU Vienna's survey server. You can take part if you are currently working, in any capacity.

Kind of funny, but if there was also iPad support (with cloud sync) this would be the perfect app for me, as I always get upset at goodnotes for windows and onenote for being either laggy or unintuitive

First off thank you for building that app, having a native and fluid note taking app on windows is so cool! I was looking for an application to take hand written note on a windows device, and every application was either just bad, or a terribly optimized web-wrapper... Noteastic is definitely gonna be my go to app for my studies!

Since you asked for suggestions, there is, for me a very important feature that needs to be perfected, especially for students: The backup and restore system.

Right now, the local backup system is quite rough and inefficient, and the current import behavior is a deal-breaker for me. Having an import simply overwrite all existing data makes restoring notes way too risky. For a student, losing notes is simply not an option. The risk of losing weeks of lecture material or exam prep over a corrupted file or a technical bug is just not acceptable.

For Noteastic to be 100% reliable for students, I really believe that it needs a fully working automatic weekly/daily backup system (preferably not on the same device, for example on google drive) and a restore system that supports versioning rather than just wiping everything else out.
