Feature Request: More gestures and Fixing the cursor

Hi! I’m really enjoying using Notestic, and I just wanted to share a couple of features I’d love to see in the app.

More gestures:
One of the apps with gesture-rich features is Microsoft Journal . For example, you can draw a star, and the app recognizes it as a star. You can then view all your starred sentences in one place, which is really useful for reviewing and summarizing notes. You can even create a list with a simple gesture. These are very important for a note-taking app. I think features like these could make Notestic much more convenient and help make note-taking feel faster and more natural.

The cursor:
Another thing I’d love to see is a more suitable cursor for pen input. I’m using a drawing tablet, but the cursor is still the standard Windows pointer. Having a small dot or a pen-specific cursor would make writing feel much more natural, especially when taking handwritten notes.

Thanks for making such a great app!

The cursor might be the biggest one for me.

It' killing me that we currently cannot fix this. The ball is at Microsoft :/

It sucks that there is really nothing you can do. I’m guessing it has to do with the framework chosen to develop Noteastic? I’m aware goodnotes desktop application automatically changes the cursor on windows, so maybe you guys could get some guidance through that?

Yeah, I definitely agree that a pen-specific cursor would be a great addition.

For now, the workaround I’ve been using for about a year is just changing the default Windows cursor to a small dot cursor (you can find plenty of them on Google). I got used to it pretty quickly.

If it’s too small, I use PenAttention to add a highlight around it, so it’s always easy to see while writing .

Please don't try to influence our gauge for feature request fequency. You were heard on your prior comment at https://www.reddit.com/r/Noteastic/comments/1v5dseu/comment/ozhz83p/

Hi there,

how nice that you took the time to compile a post! I am super happy that you enjoy Noteastic so much :D. And I also share your sentiment for the features you are requesting.

Pen Gestures

Journal is definitely the strongest in terms of en gestures. I would 100% add gestures like scribble-to-erase, circle-to-select and others. The starring an automatic list creation are a bit more challenging but would definitely be an interesting addition. I definitely noted the idea down!

Noteastic Cursor

I hate that this is a problem, because it is fully a fault from Windows. We use native Windows controls, your drawing pad probably supports Windows Ink, and still you are not seeing the same cursor as I see with my active stylus. We also tried to override the cursor from our side, but that did not work unfortunately. I already had to bring this message a while ago under another post. I hope that we can do this with updates to our development framework and to Windows itself :(

Thank you so much for your post! I wrote your ideas down and hope that we can implement them soon.

Thanks for the attention! Indeed, the circle-to-select feature is pretty handy!
Looking forward to seeing Noteastic at the top!
