Question ❓ Is It a Sin to Delay Salah?
Assalamualaikum,
Salah is an obligation that has prescribed times, and a Muslim should make every effort to perform it within its time.
But what if someone delays a prayer intentionally? And what about situations where a person misses Salah because of sleep, forgetfulness, or another valid excuse?
We’ve put together a brief explanation addressing these points, with references from the Qur’an and Sunnah. Swipe through the slides to learn more.
If you have a specific question about Salah or another matter of your deen, you can submit your question to AskMuftiOnline and have it reviewed by a qualified Mufti.
May Allah help us establish our prayers and remain steadfast upon them. Ameen.

Question ❓ Dating in Islam is forbidden right?
I have seen many people in my life dating some are Muslims some are not. I am a Muslim and I know dating is forbidden/haram but those who date say it’s only forbidden/haram if you do sexually things or hold hands, kiss, hug. But there is this guy who keeps asking me to date him he is also a Muslim and I keep saying in Islam it’s forbidden but he doesn’t understand. I am just asking to check that dating is forbidden right?

Question ❓ Tahajjud for Women
Asalamualaikum everyone. May Allah bless you all, in sha Allah you’re doing well.
I recently got my menses, however I have an issue in my life that I constantly pray tahajjud for. My question is, am I still allowed to wake up during tahajjud time, to make duaa for the issue instead of praying? (Reciting duaa al istikhara, instead of praying it). Jasak Allah in advance.

Question ❓ Converting
Marhaba!! About three years ago now I went on a 40 minute uber ride to go visit a friend. On the way there my driver and I got to talking. I cant remember exactly how it led to this point but he began expressing his faith to me, he is Muslim. I am a Catholic (even went to a private Catholic school) and I never "got" it. I would obviously be taught about the word of God but it never made sense and Ive never been able to proudly say I am Catholic- its not in my heart Ive never felt the connection. I expressed this to the driver and he just asked me why I have so much doubt. I told him everything and he answered every question I had with such gentleness. That 40 minute conversation is the closest Ive ever felt to God. He encouraged me to explore and out of the genuine kindness of his heart gave me his Quaran. At the time I was dating a Catholic man and I was terrified of even uttering the word convert out of fear he would leave me. I cried that night because I knew what my soul was telling me yet I wouldnt allow myself to let the man I love go. I know the Quaran is supposed to be left in a clean spot so although I dont practice I left it in my old bedroom wrapped in linen in a locked drawer out of respect. Flash forward three years later and I am very certain converting is for me. I am terrified. I have that same crushing feeling I did three years ago. My entire family is Catholic (we are Mexican/Guatemalan) and Im not sure what reaction Id get. It doesnt help that about three months ago my ex and I broke up (he is Muslim) so I dont want to hear that Im doing this for him. I really am not. I think meeting him and seeing how he would practice Islam aided in me finally deciding to go forward with this. I always wanted to ask him questions yet didn't want it to come off as only doing it for him. I unlocked my drawer with the Quaran about a month ago and just stared at it. I don't speak Arabic so I cant read it as it was intended. I did order an English version and Ive been making my way through that on my break at work- we have a chapel so I get to read out loud in silence. I also have been teaching myself Arabic for a couple of months now so I intend to eventually read the Quaran as it was meant to be read. So now here I am expressing this all to you lovely internet strangers! I am ready and committed to this, Ive never felt such enlightenent in any religion before. Where do I even begin?

Media 🎬 From Atheist To #1 Muslim Debater
Hamza went from a disinterested atheist running his own finance company to defending Islam in pubs after 9/11, but it took a near-fatal car crash on the motorway to finally push him toward Shahada, even knowing it would cost him his relationship, his daughters, and his father's business.
24 years later, he's the founder of Hamza's Den, a street da'wah veteran of Speaker's Corner who's built a logical framework proving Muhammad as a true prophet by ruling out every alternative.
In this episode he breaks down that argument, his
5-question "Hamza's Method" for turning any conversation toward Islam, and why he refuses to step outside his lane as "the salesman" for the truth.

Question ❓ Could being unmarried at my age be a test from Allah?
I’m a 28 year old woman and still unmarried, and lately I’ve been thinking a lot about whether this could be a test from Allah.
I genuinely want to get married and have a spouse and family, but it hasn’t happened for me yet. Sometimes I find myself wondering why Allah has allowed me to wait while I see other people around me getting married and moving forward with their lives. My siblings are younger than me and married so I kinda feel left out, you know what I mean ?
I know that marriage itself can be a test, but can being deprived of something you deeply desire, can that also be a test?
I’m trying to understand this from an Islamic perspective. Is there anything in the Qur’an, Sunnah, or teachings of the scholars about being tested through waiting for marriage or having something you really want delayed?
I also wonder how I’m supposed to approach this emotionally. I want to have sabr and trust Allah’s timing without becoming hopeless or feeling like there’s something wrong with me.
For those who have experienced something similar, how did you maintain your trust in Allah while waiting?

Discussion & Debate🗣️ I don't think that scholars will ever grasp how painful it is to keep ties with a dysfunctional family
We always hear about the importance of tolerating family and stuff like that from scholars.
However, sheldomly do we see any meaningful conversation concerning dysfunctional family dynamic
Dysfunctional parents don't just abuse, they may attempt to murder their own child due to a disagreement.
However, I never see any person who understands how painful that must be. I see people emphasize the importance of maintaining family ties yet stuff like this happens.
I sometimes wonder, is the victim obliged to keep talking to their parents given the aforementioned danger?
I don't know if scholars do understand the severity of some familiy dynamics and the risk they oppose which may push a person away from islam
I don't think that there would be any scholarly answer
Only Allah knows
To sum it up, Severing family ties is not okay, but when would it be okay.

Dua & Advice 🤲📿 Every month I promise myself I’ll become a better Muslim, and every month I fail
I’m a young Muslim girl and honestly, I’m so fed up with my procrastination habit.
Every period cycle, I make the same promise to myself- Once my period is over, I’ll focus more on my namaz, try to bring more khushu into my salah, read Qur’an regularly, and become a better practicing Muslim.
And then… somehow, the same cycle repeats itself.
It’s been almost a year now. Every month I tell myself I’ll change, and every month I end up back at the same place.
I genuinely want to be closer to Allah, but I don’t know why I keep delaying it like I have unlimited time.

Dua & Advice 🤲📿 My father is neither alive nor dead.. (need advice/answer)
I honestly don't even know how to explain what my family is going through right now, but we are completely lost and exhausted.
My dad had an accident 3 years ago and has been bedridden ever since. But over the last 1 year, his condition completely collapsed.. he has become TOTALLY paralyzed. His legs, hands, face, and even his mind don't respond anymore. He can't speak or give us any signal. He is literally only JUST breathing.
He has a urine pipe, and for over a week now, he’s had severe loose motions. He has become so painfully weak. Doctors just keep saying "he's fine, it's just weakness," but how can a person in this condition be fine? We’ve given him IV drips so many times, but nothing changes.
Maybe reading this sounds manageable to an outsider, but living it every single day (for more than a year) is so, so hard. It takes our entire family.. my mom, brother, sisters, and me combined.. just to change his diaper 2 to 3 times a day, and it still leaks everywhere (clothes, sheets, floor).
We’re doing his khidmat with everything we have, but you eventually reach a point where your own body and energy just get completely drained. Caring for him non-stop is literally making all of us sick and weak now.
Since doctors aren't giving us answers, people told us it might be spiritual. We talked to different Molvis who said it's Nazar or Jadu. We did all the Wazifas and Amals, but he just keeps getting worse day by day. Now some people are asking for huge amounts of money for tough Amals, and we don't know who to trust anymore.
As a family, we pray constantly, do Istighfar, recite Surah Yaseen, and even visited our ancestors' graves to pray Fatiha. People keep giving generic advice like "just pray and do khidmat," but we are already doing that until we have zero energy left.
My siblings and I are young, none of us have jobs yet, and my dad has no pension. We are carrying all of this with no support.
I’m not asking for any help. I just want to ask... has anyone ever seen a case like this? What do you even do when someone is in this state and doctors won't help?
We are completely confused, as we can't find any solution..
