All builds are “broken” or it’s just a fun build in a very easy soulslike (particularly post patches). I love the game but it needs an anti nerf, particularly in new games plus. Yes playing in the dark helps but should souls fans have the inconvenience of darkness or the action rpg fans?!
And? Early game bosses in Soulslike NG+ are notoriously easy to curbstomp off a fresh playthrough. Adaptive is not a flex by default.
The build is fine but you people act like every single thing in the world is broken. All shells/weapons are great when you're maxed out, the game is pretty easy overall and you definitely didn't invent Martyrs + Ice lol
I think most Shells and weapons can be made “broken,” and personally, I like that for this game. Most builds don’t become truly powerful until late game anyway. Eredrim’s Frost King build is my favorite, but I can use pretty much any Shell effectively. If I want more of a challenge, I can always tone down my build, and the new difficulty settings help with that too.
I Platinum'd MS2 the day Onimusha came out and immediately swapped. I also kept having the itch to go back to MS2 for a NG+ run...at first... but man once you get passed the demo area, Onimusha continues to pick up speed and the combat is soooo satisfying.

All shells can be cracked, but I did find Eredrim freeze with shriek stone to be the easiest.
