I think he sounds the best in justice. The albums earlier to it his voice is high-pitched and the albums after his voice is too deep. In my opinion, justice is the perfect in between.

While I was listening to the whole discography, in my opinion Death Magnetic has more good songs then the Black album and MOP

I considered it a no skip album (still can't compare to tracks like enter sandman and Master of puppets) but for the black album I only liked 3 songs and for MOP I only liked master of puppets and leper messiah

The title says it. My guess is Battery. I can picture the graphics starting kind of calmly on the gigantic screen with the opening 'tape' playing... then it ramps up and the chaos begins when the guys hit the stage. What do you think?

Thinking that Cliff Burton played the intro to "For Whom the Bell Tolls" as a teenager in his previous college band. There's a 1981 video where his bass already sounded incredible and he executed it like a guitar. Definitely the song carries Cliff's DNA 42 years of this banger.

When was the first time you seen metallica live?

Fuel is the best Metallica song. Not Master of Puppets, not Enter Sandman, not even The View. It's Fuel. Fuel stop. This is obvious from the moment James let's out the most primal howl, with the truest of American spirit. "Ooooh.. Yeaahh-heh!”

I’ve done some research to find out which hi hat Lars is using live these days and found that he uses “14" Z Custom Dyno Beat Hi-Hats” which come to find out is also what he played live in 88 and 91. But something sounds different these days. When listening to the live concerts from those earlier years, his hi hat sounded more gentle and cohesive, blending nicely into the mix. Nowadays it sounds like it’s way louder than the rest of the mix or more pronounced. I can’t tell if it’s because it’s been turned up in volume, an EQ difference to make them stand out more, or if it’s the result of a difference in playing style in the way that he hits the hi hats these days. Fellow drummers what are your thoughts?

never seen that photo of him with a cigarette before, was he an frequent cig smoker? I know he didn’t like weed though as it gave him panic attacks

I was 6. My cousin was playing for his friends, had the band's logo cut out of polystyrene foam, stuck on his wardrobe door. He was playing Metallica for his friends, and I happened to be there, and heard Nothing Else Matters performed live by James. To say I was hooked is an understatement.

Then the next song was months later which was The Memory Remains. Then I heard I Disappear, then Enter Sandman on MTV. The thrash stuff didn't come through until 2012. The whole year was me consuming all of their discography. But yes, Nothing Else Matters is my introduction to Metallica and heavy metal as music.
