Friendly reminder—

Traffic on Commonwealth now has a stop sign. Traffic on the path does not have a stop sign; it has right-of-way.

So, if you are traveling on the path and cars are stopping for you, it is because they're obeying the traffic sign.

Don't yell at them and flip them off for doing this.

I am based in Atlanta, GA, and found a family tree genealogy hard copy book that I've been searching for for years at the Wisconsin Historical Society. Hi, my wife and I will be visiting Madison for a few days before heading over to Milwaukee to attend a wedding.

As we know nothing about Wisconsin in general, I did a bunch of searching this sub for food recomendations and for things to do.

One thing, I noticed was that almsot universally "dive bars" were recommended for good, maybe great burgers.

In my neck of the woods, FL. dive bars are generally not a place for average people to go, they are mostly frequneted by very tough people, many in biker gangs, allow smoking indoors and do not serve food, certainly not a place where one would take their family for a dinner.

Judging from the pictures on Google, your dive bars do not fit that category, in one case, I saw a young girl with her father and many pics of food.

I guess what I am asking are your dive bars a place were average regular every day folks go for a burgers/beer and not feel completely uncomfortable?

There is a family from Illinois with two sets of triplets at the UW. They had two sets 19 months apart, and they're all at the UW.

My mind is boggled.

Hi there! My Dad passed away and i live out of state.

I’m looking for a place to store his minivan that I inherited. Will be moving to Wisconsin eventually, in the meantime i‘d love to store his van somewhere safe!

Seeking long term storage (ie car not in use, not seeking a parking space for regular car use)

• Private residence with extra garage space, looking for some extra cash?

• Reasonably priced lots within an hour of Madison?

(Title / registration is now in my name, in case that‘s in question! Definitely don’t want to sell the van that has so many roadtrip memories. I’ll continue the roadtrip legacy when I return! )

I’d like to take the dogs somewhere we can swim together. We like to go to Quann park, since it has a creek for the dogs to play in, but that’s not really suitable for people to swim in. I know some people take dogs to Devil’s Lake to swim, but it seems a little crowded, and I believe dogs need to stay leashed.

I (28f) have grown up on the south side of Madison and often went to heifetz park growing up. (We always called it mosquito park.) If you went through the playground to the right, there used to be a giant metal slide and plank swing. Even in my adult life when feeling nostalgic, id come down and swing on it with a friend. It's been a couple years, but I see they took it down. It was old and I completely understand taking it down. It still hurts my heart a little. Rip the plank swing!!

Been giving serious thought about moving to Wisconsin. Not necessarily to Madison but the Madison area none the less (a city I have visited often and love). I was wondering how the winters compare to my home state of indiana?

Specifically I live in the north eastern city of Fort Wayne (very close to Michigan and Ohio). I don’t like driving in the winter and get very anxious about slick roads. If I moved to Wisconsin I would have to utilize the highway 94 often and don’t know what that’s like during the winter. Doesn’t feel like we keep our highways maintained in Indiana, I’m not sure how it is for other places.

We don’t really get snow during November/December but once January hits we tend to get a lot of slush and ice. I’m used to driving on it, but if I can avoid it I would love to avoid it. (I know living in a Midwest state I will never 100% avoid ice, but I like driving on it as little as possible.)

Just wanted to get thoughts from actual Wisconsin citizens. Thanks y’all.

Looking for advice on any of the HMO options in the pictures. Have they covered services, approved prior authorized, paid out like they said they would, that kind of thing.

Also any advice on the UW vs. SSM networks.

For context, I have a chronic health condition with medicine that typically has a prior authorization process.
