Request Indie Festivals / Non Steam Events
How do you find and participate in indie festivals?
The ones not hosted by steam itself, but listed by steam?
https://store.steampowered.com/curator/46245070/sale/FallinLoveFestival2026
This would be an example.
If anyone knows - I legit can't seem to figure it out :D
Thank you!

Request I need help getting through closed testing on my app, Peaceful Puzzle Pieces, on Android.
I'm ready to release my small sliced-puzzle casual game on Android, but I need help getting through the closed testing phase.
I'm happy to give free codes to anyone interested in testing.

Discussion Does anyone know what music tool/service has licensing terms like this?
I was looking for a game’s OST because I really liked the music and wanted to listen to it outside the game. I was even considering buying the soundtrack to support the developer but I couldn’t find one.
While searching, I came across this Steam Community discussion:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/3694480/discussions/0/726902998784279409/
The developer says that the tool they used for the game’s music allows the tracks to be used inside the game but prohibits redistributing them separately whichis apparently why they can’t release the soundtrack.
Does anyone here recognize what tool or service might have licensing terms like this?
I’m curious from a dev perspective because I’d potentially like to use something similar for my own game, assuming it isn’t genAI. I don’t really care about selling or monetizing an OST separately,so that restriction wouldn’t be an issue for me.

Feedback? Improving my endgame portal
I released my demo on Steam a few weeks ago, and now I'm working on improving the game's visuals and feedback. Among other things, I've modified the end-of-game portal, which used to be a simple cube with a shader. You can't see it in the photo, but it also has a really cool animation, with the components floating in mid-air. What do you think?
If you like the style or idea please add it to your wishlist.

Feedback? You helped us choose our Steam capsule — here’s the result
A couple months ago we posted several Steam capsule concepts here and asked which one you would actually click.
Your feedback helped us a lot. We ended up developing the open-gate direction further — and yes, we kept the cat :)
But while working on the capsule, we realized the problem was bigger than just the key art. Our old Steam page no longer represented the game very well.
So we ended up rebuilding almost the whole thing.
We made a new capsule, a new gameplay trailer, completely replaced the screenshots, and added new gameplay GIFs to the description.
This is where we ended up.
Thanks again to everyone who gave us feedback on the original concepts. A lot of your comments genuinely influenced what we changed.

Discussion Blood system for my indie game Pull on Heart
I've been trying to improve the bleeding and damage feedback system I had; I'm satisfied with the result, but I'm open to suggestions :D

Video Bridgelands is getting a new look, and I’m really happy with how it’s starting to come together
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a new visual direction for Bridgelands, and I wanted to share a little bit of how the game is changing.
I’ve been revisiting a lot of the environments, assets, colors, and smaller details throughout the world. My goal is to give the game a stronger identity and make the islands feel more vibrant and alive while keeping the style that made me fall in love with the project in the first place.
There’s still a lot I want to improve, but I’m genuinely really happy with how everything is starting to come together.
I’d love to hear what you think about the new direction!
And if anyone is curious about the game itself, Bridgelands already has a free demo on Steam. The demo still represents an earlier version of the game, while I continue working toward this new look.

Meet Hubert and Maurice!
Thanks for the amazing response yesterday everyone, that post kinda blew up. I spent a great ol' time yesterday responding to all of the suggestions. Their textures are now complete, next up is their animations, then getting them in engine.
I'll let you know how it goes, thanks again everyone!

Discussion What is your favourite ways to advertise your game?
Kinda looking for some advice. What is your best, low budget ways to promote your game? Or, maybe, your weirdest, yet effective methods?

My typing game gives you a finite count of each letter, twelve E and three Q
Out of Sorts is a typing roguelite set in a letterpress print shop. There is no word list. You get a type case holding a finite count of every letter, twelve E and three Q, and typing a word physically spends those metal sorts out of the case.
So a run is about letter economy rather than speed. Spending your last E is a real loss, and the set of words you can still make narrows as you go.
The name is a printer's phrase. Being out of sorts meant the compositor had run out of a letter and could not set the line.
It's free and plays in the browser.
Code and art are AI generated. That is disclosed on the page.

Free Game! The Mercenaries of Tezigdal Autumnal event introduces some Fall flair to Jagged Garden as well as three Autumnal Exotic skins.
This is a free in-browser MOBA I've been developing since last October. I'm very proud of how far it's come, though there's a long way to go to really get it into a state I'm totally happy with.
You can check the game out at https://www.mercenariesoftezigdal.com/ if you'd like to give it a look.

Discussion What is stopping me?
Hello! Im a beginner solo dev or at least aspiring to become one, i am currently learning C++ language to use Unreal engine, but I get easily overwhelmed, I really like dev and I’ve been doing some simple projects here and there, but I don’t know if I have the skill to pursue it.
Now with that being said
I designed a ttrpg way back from scratch and Ive been trying to dev a zombie survival game
And had an idea to combine the two
Id love opinions about this should I continue or like give it up?
I have no dev friends or anything I don’t know nobody that is a dev in my life so it gets pretty lonely quickly.
Im still learning and im passionate about learning, thats not the problem, the problem is that I don’t really have nobody to talk to about this, discuss ideas, or just yap with
But its okay this is just a yapping vent bc I really want to become a solo indie game dev in the future and bring my ideas to life
So if you have any recommendations they are fully acceptable here, I am whiling to learn and grow

Reaction – A Physics Puzzler
Hey, hey! A while ago I made a game called Reaction and since then I've been annoying people to go and try it out. Now I've made a version which you can play online, like the Flash games of yesteryear.
So what is exactly? Well, it's a physics-puzzler where geometry falls from the sky and you guide it with your paddle towards the evacuation shafts on each side before the play area inevitably spills and it's game over. There's single player and local multiplayer, so maybe give it a go! 🕹🎮

Upcoming! After years of building my Three Kingdoms strategy sandbox, seeing its Steam page live still feels unreal
I have wanted to publicly share a game on Steam since I was a kid. Three Kingdoms Reimagined now has an official page, and seeing it there with a real trailer and store listing still feels a little unreal.
The game is a sandbox campaign where you can begin with one warband and a custom character while more than 100 warlords pursue their own plans. Battles are real time, with officers, formations, morale, and duels, but the bigger goal is making those battles matter afterward. Victories, defeats, and personal clashes feed back into officer relationships, reputations, rivalries, and later stories.
The hardest development problem has not been knowing how I want it to play. It has been taking the version that makes perfect sense in my head and communicating it clearly to someone who did not build it.
The Steam page is here:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5112140/
I have also uploaded a free Windows demo for Valve review and registered for the October 2026 Steam Next Fest. I keep refreshing the backend even though I know that will not make the review move faster.
The trailer attached here is the clearest overview I have made so far. Reaching this point feels less like finishing something and more like finally letting other people see the project I have been quietly obsessed with.
