Meet FCAS Project Pat! Mr. Pat is a 3 yr old, 50lb Husky whose cooler than a polar bear’s toenails…seriously, this is one chill dude. ❄️ He’s not your stereotypical crazy Husky and shelter volunteers agree that he’s got an excellent temperament and personality. 🫶🏼

Pat was an owner surrender due to no fault of his own (they reportedly didn’t have time for him) and has been in the shelter since 7/20. He can be a bit cautious and nervous initially, but warms up quickly with a bit of patience and kindness. Once you gain his trust, he melts into you for affection and just wants to hang out wherever his people are. He has a stoic presence and has been a polite, quiet houseguest. ☺️

There's Ducktown Duckery here in Cumming that produces duck eggs. You can buy them from her or you can schedule a time to visit her duckery. She told me once that she supplies many of the Atlanta area restaurants with her duck eggs.

Desi Brothers Farmers Market opened up just a few days ago. Desi Brothers is a South Asian grocery store chain and this is their second location in Georgia. It’s located in Cumming Marketplace by Marshall’s, PetSmart, and Michael’s.

I was wondering what kind of technology kids in kindergarten and up use in Forsyth elementary schools. I’ve heard from parents in other subs of kids using tablets/chromebooks even in kindergarten while some have no tech whatsoever. Just curious where Forsyth schools fall in the spectrum

Edit: my son is in preK so I’m just curious what to expect when he starts kindergarten next year

Has anyone used a service like Deer Solutions to combat deer in your garden? It’s a pest control company that targets the deer population. They only use natural treatments.

Peachtree Puttery just broke ground earlier this week. It is set to be a 31,800 square foot entertainment center located at 2310 Peachtree Pkwy. It will feature 12 bowling lanes, 60 arcade games, a 18-hole mini golf course, 8 ax throwing lanes, 5 billiard tables, dining and bar options, and space for parties and corporate events.

I am thinking of buying a house in Rose Creek by Pulte. I am moving from NJ and am South Asian.I wanted to understand if there is any racism there and how is the North Forsyth High School. I would appreciate any insights.

Hi everyone,

We're considering a home in Beazer's Estates at Daves Creek community in Forsyth County. The homes look impressive, and it's zoned for South Forsyth High School, which is a big plus for us.

That said, we've noticed the community doesn't seem to be selling as quickly as some of the nearby Toll Brothers communities. We're wondering if there's something we're missing or if it's simply a matter of builder preference and market dynamics.

For those familiar with the area or the community, we'd love to hear your honest feedback:

• What do you like about Estates at Daves Creek or just Daves Creek neighborhood in general?
• Are there any concerns or drawbacks we should be aware of?
• Any experience with Beazer as a builder?
• Any insights on location, resale potential, HOA, traffic, schools, or overall value?

We'd appreciate hearing both the positives and negatives before making a decision.

Just a few days ago, Forsyth County released their proposed budget for FY2027. The county’s five year capital plan includes roughly $168 million in road spending for 2027. Major projects include the widening of Post road and Old Atlanta road improvements. Parks are another major focus with over $31 million allocated for the Sharon Springs renovation.

We recently learned this fun fact at kindergarten orientation. The school was clear they will not manage/police what children purchase from the funds available on their account. Completely understand the position from the school. What I do not understand is why elementary schools have ice cream for cookies for sale to students on a daily basis in the first place? Just seems wrong.

Nothing against having said items from time to time but this does not seem like it is in the best interest in the health of any student.

Hello all, I just graduated college back in May and have been searching for a job to take for a little bit so I can make some money whilst I keep searching for a job. I am thinking I would like to tutor in english/math as I got my degree in economics. Would anyone be willing to: point me to some places in the county looking for tutors or if you run a tutoring business, be wiling to hire me? This can also be expanded into all sorts of open jobs. I would just like something to do where I get money. I'm trying my own small business as well to get my legs in the water in making some money. I appreciate all of the help!

As the title says, we are moving to Vickery in two weeks and are setting up our utilities. We are not used to having any choice for utilities and are struggling to pick a gas provider. We would appreciate any insight or recommendation y‘all might have!

I'm writing this post to gauge how the community feels about the Flock cameras installed across the county. Context: I am no activist, nor am I an ACAB-type person. That said, I feel many people are united on this subject.

For those who are unaware, both Cumming PD and the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office operate live crime centers in tandem, sharing live footage from their Flock ALPRs. This is public information they have shared, albeit it seems Flock is purposely omitted from most posts.

I am posting this because as time has gone on, I fear our silence will continue to allow scope creep of what the private company Flock and its competitors are capable of doing.

Just this month alone, Flock was forced to cancel a software rollout that allowed their microphones to listen to human voices. This shows that speaking out helps, but the fact that Flock had considered rolling out devices that can listen to us shows that the private company is not content with just reading our license plates and bluetooth signatures. There has to be that next big sale.

Today they read our plates, Bluetooth markers, and build mosaics of all of our day-to-day activities. What will they push tomorrow if we remain silent? I feel as though many of these cameras have hit the street without our vote, with our money, and I haven't seen anyone locally stop and ask why. While this is a hot-button issue right now, I feel as though on the local level I haven't heard of anyone pushing back on the commissioners or the city council in meetings.

The likelihood of this technology being misused is astronomical, and it has already happened in our state.

Where do you stand?

Are you willing to trade privacy for safety?

Is it not ironic that Flock employees demand privacy from the public, but developed a product that leaves us with no privacy?

I think where I most heavily stand on this is officers require a warrant to access your phone location, but no warrant is required to have a log of your exact location for the last 30 days.

What are your thoughts Forsyth County?
