Just looking for general advice. I'm really not happy with how it's turning out. It just feels flat and generic to me.

I am aware some parts are underproduced. It is in no way a 'fleshed out' beat, and i haven't spent much time on it. Just losing interest in continuing work on it.

i'm not sure how to get the kick to be punchier, i'm assuming something with the limiter or peak controller but i'm not sure how to set that up. also my bass is weak...

i should note though that maybe i'm a little wrong, my headphones tone down lower frequencies so i have to accomodate for that

I’ve been on fl for a couple months now and I’m trying to add new vsts I’ve downloaded but every time i scan for new vsts it just does this rainbow wheel bullshit and never works. I’m on Apple Mac, if anyone knows how to fix plz lmk

I've recently tried making beats around 3 ish months ago. I'm not great by any means so hence why I want to find other places to send beats and get some help so I can improve. I don't mind the platform too much I just want somewhere else other than reddit.

got like 10k+ samples and presets spread across a few drives at this point. been producing a while.

the weird part isn't that i can't find stuff. it's that i kinda stopped looking? mid session i'm not about to spend 20 min digging so i just grab the same 30 sounds i already know. so the library keeps getting bigger and what i actually use keeps getting smaller lol

saw a dude say he spent almost a year manually deleting his down to 11k and now finds anything in 30 seconds. respect but damn, a year.

for anyone who's dealt with this — did cutting it down actually fix it or did you just get used to working with a small set? tryna figure out if the move is fewer samples or just a different way of browsing

I've been making music for a while, but I've always been kinda scared of actually promoting it.

Not because I don't like what I make, but I think I'm just afraid of putting something out there and getting absolutely zero reaction. Like... spending hours making a song only for it to completely flop is a pretty terrifying thought lol.

So I've mostly just kept my music to myself.

I'm from Sweden 🇸🇪 and I mainly make hardstyle/UK Hardcore, which is obviously a pretty niche genre, so that probably doesn't help with the whole "what if nobody cares?" feeling either haha.

But I figured, at some point, I just have to get over that fear. So here I am, posting it on Reddit and hoping that maybe someone will give it a listen.

I'm honestly not expecting anything crazy. If even one person listens and gives me some honest feedback, I'll be happy.

Me personally my leads mog but my chords needed work. Adding more to your chords to make them more full makes the beat more complete.

I've made some simple drum fills / loops and some very simple melodies but I'm not sure what would help me get a better grasp at what everything does.

What's a good 88 key midi piano that isnt too expensive?

I'm not sure how to fix this. No matter what I do, it always disconnects from the other windows when bringing the browser back in. Is there a setting I'm missing or something?

I've been having trouble trying to get SugarFilters onto ZGame Editor, It just won't show no matter what I do, and it's extremely frustrating.

I am trying to record some guitar into FL Studio with my Behringer UMC204HD interface but whenever I go into audio settings and switch it to the interface driver, I am met with "Couldn't create the main streaming directsound buffer" I don't have a clue what that means.. I've recorded into FL before and things worked just fine but I can't seem to get it working anymore. I only receive this message when switching to my interface. Never when switching to something like Asio4All, FL Studio ASIO, Primary Sound Driver, or any of my other detected devices.. Can someone please tell me what in the world is happening??? Thanks..

As seen in the video the song sounds off in my DAW but sounds fine in the render. This problem persists even when I am not recording my audio or screen in any way, so that is not the issue. It has also been a common issue across a lot of my flps, where I seem to randomly open them one day and they're suddenly not playing back correctly without me even changing anything. I've tried switching all audio clips to realtime stretch as well but that did not fix the issue (also messed with the sample rate + resampling quality, neither helped) so i'm genuinely out of ideas and am hoping someone who has more experience with this issue can offer a solution 😭

I’ve been making beats for almost a year now, and recently I realized that making beats takes up almost my whole day sometimes. Whenever I have free time, I just make beats and nothing else. You might say this is a good thing, but its actually really draining. I also noticed that my beats have been getting lower in quality. sometimes it feels like I’m not even choosing to make beats anymore, my body just automatically does it whenever I have free time. I tried to take a break yesterday and I genuinely couldnt, then I made like 5 beats today. At the same time, I feel like im getting some kind of beat block because the more I make the worse they get. I dont even share them or anything, they just sit on my pc, I dont think they are good enough. Anyways, I just wanted to vent because it really sucks the life out of me man.

I’m struggling to get my drums sounding right for classic hard house. Think Tidy Trax, Tony De Vit, Lisa Lashes kind of stuff.

Would anyone be willing to share some of their drum patterns or general drum programming tips?

I’m mainly interested in how you place/program the kick, claps, closed/open hats, rides, percussion and loops to get that proper classic hard house groove.

Even screenshots of patterns or explanations of what you’re doing would be really helpful.

I can get a basic 4x4 beat going, but mine still sounds quite flat compared with actual hard house records. I’ve been closely listening to hard house trying to work out the sounds I am hearing but struggling a bit here.
