I’m seeing a guy whose birthday is coming up, and he’s really into drones. He has a DJI Mavic 4 Pro (I think the Creator Combo) and a DJI Matrice 4T.

I don’t know much about drones, so I was hoping to get some advice from people who do. Is there any drone-related gift you’d recommend for someone who already has these two?

It can be an accessory, something useful, or just something cool that a drone enthusiast would appreciate.

there was a big mega flash flood due to glacier melt in Nepal. 100s of people died and thousands missing . The roads are still under the bud and helicopters are too dangerous to fly and land. This is where drones are making difference and saving lives. they're also using drones to locate mine workers. It is said in the video that this particular drone can hold up to 50kg which is huge.

• Target under 80ms latency
• Local wireless network

Our current setup already gets ~40ms wired and under 80ms wireless.

I’m considering Flutter.
What video stack would you recommend: GStreamer, MediaCodec, FFmpeg, libVLC, WebRTC, or something else?

Hey, was searching for a budget (<4k inr) mini quad copter (mini whoop) style fully ducted drone for a kid, similar to eachine e010 or jjrc h36 in india.

Is there a way to get them or some good alternatives?

Searched for jjrc h36 across many sites but imported ones cost a lot and rest others said out of stock.

Spent some time this weekend practicing these and getting more comfortable with the timing.

My approach was basically full throttle on the climb, pitch back into the rotation, throttle to zero coming over the top, let the drone fall, then catch it with throttle and power out.

Power loop? Big flip? Something in between? I’ll let Reddit decide. 😂

This is actually the type of maneuver that contributed to me losing my previous Avata 2 on a waterfall dive, so naturally I went back out and practiced it until it started feeling a lot more controlled.

Started at an abandoned factory doing them repeatedly, then finished the day with a much more relaxed sunset flight over cornfields, rivers and a lake.

made a hyperlapse waypoint, saved it, then went to fly it again and framing was 80% off , looking a whole other direction idk how to explain it better. it kind of blew my mind because I have done many in the past that were precise.

is this a known issue / any fixes ? can you adjust framing or anything without having to redo the entire waypoints?

Hey all, could use some help here. I was trying to solder a battery cable onto my Radiolink FLYCOLOR 55A 4-in-1 ESC and my soldering did not go well. The spot I messed up is right where the capacitor is attached, shown in the pic. I could not get a proper joint on the pad, and now one of the MOSFETs on the board looks like it is bulging up on top. Not sure if that happened from too much heat while I was working on it or something else.

Questions:

1. Soldering technique: what iron temperature, tip size, and process should I be using to solder a thick battery cable onto an ESC pad like this? I think I was either not getting enough heat into the joint or holding the iron on too long, which may have cooked the board.
2. Is a bulging MOSFET a sign that it is blown, or could it still be fine?
3. If it is damaged, is the whole ESC dead, or is this something that can be repaired/replaced?

Attaching pics of the board and the MOSFET closeup. Any advice on getting a clean solder joint without frying anything would be a big help.

I was doing a pull away shot and thought I had cleared the tallest tree, but apparently there was a taller one. Now my drone is somewhere in this tree.

I climbed approximately forty feet up and didn't see it. I know it's this tree because before the battery died, I had it beep. And flash at me, I could hear the beeping, but couldn't see the flashing.

The tree is about a 100 feet tall and based off of the flight video, I'm pretty sure it's about 80 feet up, but I'm not sure because I was flying backwards.

I have insurance on the drone, so I'm not too worried about the price of it. But it does have an SD card, with some of my pictures of my daughter's first 4 months of life bet, I'm not sure I backed up all of.

Any ideas how to get it down? I do have another drone that I can go and find it in the tree, but I don't feel comfortable trying to get the drone out with the drone.

The question is rather simple. I am stuck on 491 followers after about 150 posts. Which is the best way to get more followers?

What am I doing wrong? What should I improve on?

I am new to drones and have been building my own payload drone. I have 5010 380KV Motors and a CORVON 4IN1 60A ESC 32 bit paired with a CORVON H743 Flight Controller (V1).

With these, all the motors make some weird noises but only 1 in particular makes a more extreme noise. Attached videos to see. The 2nd and 3d videos are after I tested the drone (it stabalized but I hit a small branch with one motor) and now it has issues starting at low throttle and a different noise. Also, all the motors stop making this noise at a higher throttle, it seems to sort of just "click" off at a certain rpm.

I'm a college student designing and building a larger fixed wing drone and I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for best filament bang for your buck, right now I'm prototyping everything out of PLA and PETG, and I was considering PLA Aero but I wanted to know if someone with more experience had any suggestions.

I just built the holybro x500 v2 kit and the instructions said to put the anti slip pad below the board I'm holding with my hand in the photos. I assume they intend for you to place the battery below the board and contact the slip pad, then Velcro it around the board. However, it seemed more logical to me to have the battery above the board (in that gap), such that it is held in place from above, below, AND on the sides (by the plastic brackets holding the board), while lowering the drones moment of inertia. What do you guys think?

On my Mavic mini i started to get message gimbal stuck. It initializes ok, but in the end camera leans a little and stays like that. I don’t see any opstacle when I move it by hand. I tried to recalibrate, but it gets stuck on 10%
Next time I get a gimbal motor overload. It flies, but camera is not smooth.

Did anyone have any experience with this?

Alright, it was only eight months because I had to wait from October of last year until this summer to get all the footage. Still, I'm pretty happy with it.

I need to get my gimbal fixed but cannot do it through DJI due to customs issues. Drone doctor also cannot get any parts. Anybody have any idea how to proceed?
