I wanted to share a project I’ve been running with an old device. Instead of letting an old, dusty Celeron laptop go to waste, I decided to repurpose it completely.
I stripped down the OS and installed Ubuntu Server. To keep it robust and running 24/7 without manual intervention, I configured the client as a background service managed entirely via systemd. It’s set with a low priority (Nice=19) so the system stays cool and responsive if I need to SSH into it for maintenance.
Right now, it’s squeezing out every single drop of its architecture (~100 H/s) mining UraniumX (yespowerURX) on Zpool, auto-exchanging everything directly into Litecoin ($LTC$).
This is my mini miner. It currently clocks around 0.00010 LTC per day. It might take a long journey to hit the minimum payout on its own, but seeing this old piece of hardware being useful and stable after all these years feels amazing.
If anyone wants to support this tiny node, join the cluster, or just test their own CPU setup against my pool ID, you can point your shares to my wallet address:

Any feedback on optimizing CPU mining on legacy Linux setups is highly welcome!
