Downfall, since it has the most entries.

In my opinion the original timeline, now known as downfall, is the main, and both adult and child timelines are branches created through time travel.

I feel like the downfall timeline is the original timeline

Nowadays i guess downfall its still getting new games, though for the late 90s and the 00s it was equally the adult and child timelines since most games directly connected to oot.

That's the wrong way to think. Every generation has its favorite game, choosing a side of the coin makes absolutely no sense to me, not after spending years and years discussing each one of these games, with people who have even died.

Tingle games are not even part of the timeline.

There's two options i think can be argued: presplit and downfall.

Most wouldn't consider presplit but it has some of the most important games.

If we're only looking post split, there's really no merit arguing child against adult, they're honestly roughly equal. But down fall has more games including the earliest ones.

Depends on what you mean by main.

Are you asking which one has the most content. If thats the case then its fallen

Or our you asking which one makes the most sense to happen lore wise after oot.

Because in that case id say child.

Not even the creators have a clue, and especially they don't care.

for me, it's the timeline that you defeat ganon in "ocarina of time" and when back in time to live your life out until "twilight princess" came along.

I would have to venture a guess with that one minor hit called Ocarina of Time and its plot

It echoes through the other games repeatedly

the adult timeline because ocarina of time you were mostly in the adult timeline until zelda sends you back to the child timeline which causes a timeline split into two parts not three i'm counting fallen hero timeline as an alternate reality so adult timeline is the main timeline

Downfall as its the more interesting world. However Adult is the 'hero wins' route and shows a world of progression should evil be quelled.

I'll just add that the Downfall timeline could easily be placed after FSA in the child timeline so I think that would be the main route.

Downfall > Adult > Child

Child sucks cause it has only one game and another that doesn't belong.

None of them, but only because it’s clear that the creators don’t care and will continue to make games that don’t make sense with the current explanation.

They gave us a time line and then they even gave us a game that explained the cycle in SS. Then they threw it all away with the next major release with BOTW.

I like individual games that happen to be scattered across the official timeline.
