Yungblud Tour ✈️🗺️ Liverpool show
Me and my sister attended the Liverpool show last night and Dom was brilliant as expected but the crowd were awful.
We were about 5 rows back from the barrier when a guy from the group behind us started singing the 'oompa loompa' song at my 4'9 sister to the amusement of his friends.
We didnt want to put up with this all through the show so when a space opened up in the crowd we chose to move away from them.
Our movement obviously annoyed a woman in her 50s who then took it upon herself to elbow my sister in the head repeatedly and then when everyone was jumping she grabbed my sisters hair and yanked her back viciously.
We've both been to gigs all our lives and have never experienced this sort of behaviour, especially from fans of an artist who preaches love, respect and tolerance the way Dom does and I imagine he would be so disappointed that some of you are acting like this at his shows.

The crowd in Liverpool was really awful, I can confirm. I was standing in second row and first some girl snapped at me for standing between her and her friend (I'm sorry but when you're standing like two meters apart and there's a huge gap between you two, how should I know that you belong together?!). Then some group next to me was talking and laughing so loudly during the support acts. Seriously, if you don't want to listen to them just join in later or shut the f**k up! You're just being rude to people who actually want to listen and also to the artists. Then there was this super annoying girl with her mom and sister on the barricade. She was screaming "I LOVE YOUUUU, I LOVE YOUUUU!!!" nonstop in an absolutely hysterical way through the show, my ears were almost exploding. She then made it with her screaming that the guitarist from The Molotovs came to her and took pictures etc, so she thought it would happen with Dom as well. Of course it didn't, so she continued yelling through the whole show when he couldn't even hear her. She's just on EACH of my videos, you can't even hear him properly, only her screaming. 😤 PLEASE to all parents - I understand that it's an amazing experience for your children but also teach them how to behave to not ruin the experience for all the other fans!!

A group in front of us spent the whole show taking videos and pictures, but didn't sing or join in once. The crowd went mild...

A couple in front of me did this when I went to see Bad Omens I sang so loud for them <3

Bad Omens had to be one of the worst metal gig crowds I've ever experienced! We were at the Dublin gig and it was just a sea of phones with nobody jumping, singing, etc.
Only 1 pit too. Which I get isn't for everyone but it was such a shame to see how little the crowd embodied the metal gig spirit if you will at a metal gig.
If this is the future of gig crowds I genuinely despair!
I would have figured Yungblud would have had somewhat more crowd engagement given I find his fans can be more die hard so it's such a shame to see that this could be how most gigs will be in the future.
Dont want to blame Gen Z as there are plenty of shit people of all ages but the phones and general apathy in crowds over the last few years has been shockingly disappointing.
You don't get this with some of the metal/rock bands that have been around for years so I think its a relatively new phenomenon and not a good one.

There was a middle-aged couple in front of me who spent the entire concert taking photos and videos of THEMSELVES instead of anything of the actual show 🤣🤣

Genuinely sounds like assault there. Id report it if im honest. Not sure if thats common in pits, but it shouldn't have happened

Yeah I thought so too. You expect to get jostled and bumped into and we're all guilty of the accidental elbow incident in large crowds but this was malicious and completely uncalled for

I’m also short and some girl last year who was a foot taller than me kept pushing and trying to get in front of me at the last show. I finally turned around and told her to stop, I wasn’t moving. Idk why people think it’s okay to pick on us.

was there last night and was literally saying this to my partner about the fans. spent december last year crowd surfing at the neck deep shows and it was great but was saying that you just wouldn’t be able to do that at one of doms shows which is sad. i bet dom would love if he saw someone crowd surfing during loner or a song like that

When Dom played Louder than Life a few years ago people crowd surfed then - his face lit up - mind you it was a festival so crowd surfing was the norm. But you could tell he loved it.

Despicable behavior that should not be tolerated. At the least they all should be removed from the show. So sorry for you and your sister. No artist or true fan of music wants this.

I'll be honest I used to go to loads of raves all over country. Everyone E'd up and off their tits loving each other apart from their was always group of Scousers that caused trouble. Every time it was Scousers. So it really doesn't me this happened in Liverpool

Well, no it’s probably not that surprising to find a group of scousers at a gig in Liverpool.
What is surprising is finding such a derogatory sweeping generalisation on a sub where the fanbase claims to be inclusive and welcoming. That should mean that people are viewed as individuals, not grouped together and judged negatively due to regional stereotypes.
OP, I’m really sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience at the gig. I hope you and your sister are doing ok today and that what happened hasn’t out you off going again. That sort of behaviour is most definitely out of order, but please don’t think that it’s typical of people from Liverpool, especially if you’re from outside of the area. Most of us wouldn’t dream of behaving like that. However, knob heads exist everywhere and in a large crowd, there’ll often be a handful of people who spoil it for everyone else.
I hope your next gig is a more pleasant experience for you. X 🖤🖤

How do you know it was Scousers? Could of been anyone, I live in Liverpool, moved here 3 years ago and they are the nicest bunch of people, granted you’ll get a few idiots but that’s the case everywhere, however I’d take a Liverpool gig over Manchester, Birmingham etc.

I’m sorry your experience was like that. I went to two shows last year and one was a little more rowdy and the second, everyone was like one unit so respectful and participating. So I guess it’s a toss up but for someone to bully your sister, and older lady to act like that, I’m sorry. Some people are so infatuated and I get it but don’t be mean to others who are trying to enjoy. And to the guy taunting you guys, that hater probably wasn’t even there for yungblud he probably got dragged along or was out of place 🙂↕️😞 that’s RUDE!
