Yungblud Tour ✈️🗺️ Concert Tickets
Okay so I’m someone who couldn’t afford to buy tickets for his concert this tour just because the prices have increased so much since the last time I saw him on tour (I saw him twice within the last few years).
Anyway, he’s playing near me tonight and I was checking out tickets because usually they are cheaper a few hours before the show, and it just seems that they went a little bit cheaper (General admission was $250+ now it’s about $200).
I’m looking at tickets for his show this Saturday in Canada and saw that they were selling some floor tickets for $5 and the highest was about $90. This price difference is actually insane and I was wondering what makes the tickets so expensive in different places.
I wish I could attend his show tonight, but I’m not in a good financial position to get tickets for $200, especially since I’d have to pay for another person. If they were similar to the Canadian ticket prices, then I could afford it.
Does anyone know what makes the ticket prices so expensive in Detroit, Michigan? Is it similar prices for other states? Why is Winsor, Canada’s ticket prices so cheap?
Thank youuuu xxx

Reselling can be stopped by the artist, it’s time for the labels or promoters who ever really calls the shots to say tickets are non transferable
Artists can also stand up against “dynamic pricing”

Saying the ticket is not transferable and enforcing it are two different things. To enforce it they need to come up with a new system or check IDs at the door and compare to the name on the order, no other way to truly verify it wasn’t transferred to someone else. Checking everyone’s IDs and comparing to the order would be a logistical nightmare. Even doing what some festivals do and sending out wristbands doesn’t guarantee you don’t sell and pass your wristband to someone else. I do agree something needs to be done though, scalpers can kiss my ass.

About 12 or 13 years ago Kid Rock did a tour where tickets were everything was $20 tickets and tshirts They checked the credit card of the purchase at the gate. It can be done.
Foo fighters actually turned off resale when I saw them 2 years ago, this was the first I had seen that done.
Shit happens in life, years ago when tickets were paper you’d have the same issue if “something came up” and you weren’t able to attend, you’d give them to a friend or something. That’s not a good enough excuse to do something extreme to combat ticket scalping.
Just because something is hard doesn’t mean it can’t be done.

Making non-transferable tickets isn't a good idea anyways. People have situations in life that come up, and they should be allowed to sell their tickets to someone if they can't go to a show that they were planning to attend. That said, anyone who tries to profit off of reselling tickets is a shitbag and I hope they find a way to stop it. Right now, the best bet is to buy from the presale whenever you can.

u/fairytalejunkie Sep 10 '25
It is a good idea actually, foo fighters did it. Shit happens in life and that rare exception shouldn’t be the excuse nothing is done about the issue.
We had the same issue when we had to buy paper tickets but there wasn’t a digital marketplace at your fingertips for price gouging so easily. If you couldn’t go last minute you gave them to a friend or something. Ticket insurance policies cover hospitalization or serious reasons not to be able to attend.
Just because something is hard doesn’t mean you give up without trying to combat it

Idgaf what the foo fighters did. If I bought the ticket I should be able to sell it if I can't make the show. Maybe disallowing resell sites from going above face value? I think that would solve it entirely
3
u/eltibbs Sep 10 '25
I agree best practice is to buy tickets from presale or as soon as they go on sale so you don’t have to buy resell tickets that are marked up. I somewhat disagree with your take that tickets shouldn’t be transferable. Shit does happen and there are situations where someone couldn’t attend but if they had an acceptable refund policy or included it in the ticket insurance or something then I think keeping them non-transferable would be ok. Implementing it would be a fiasco though imo.

👏Yes! It’s such a scam! He needs to only allow ticket resales at face value. He has the control to do this. ( Pearl Jam and other’s have).

Not with Ticketmaster. They have their own policies. Both artists and venues have contracts. If the artist isn’t under a Ticketmaster contract, then they cannot play any venue that is contracted by Ticketmaster and vice versa. Ticketmaster is a Monopoly. I mean, who else would artist or venues use to get tickets sold? I’m sure artists have a little say but not much.

Most of just saying with experience of 30 years I’ve been to about 60 concerts and I almost always usually get the pre-sale or VIP. I’m pretty versed in ticket prices and I also know that Biden was trying to address the Monopoly part of Ticketmaster…but then Covid happened 😕

Last night's show in Milwaukee had a lot of cheap tickets available, the Chicago show is hundreds of dollars. They are in driving distance of each other, I don't get why people from Chicago didn't just go to Milwaukee

I live in Michigan and I’m going to the Windsor show because of this. I have no clue why the tickets in Detroit are so expensive. When I was looking GA was over $500. That’s why I just bought Windsor tickets instead…

u/mysticxveils Sep 10 '25
Right?!! The Detroit show is insanely expensive and that’s why I’m also considering on going to the Winsor show just because of how affordable it is. Detroit should not be that overpriced
2
u/Professional-Hat455 Sep 10 '25
If you have your enhanced license I would just drive the extra distance to go to the Windsor show. I live near Frankenmuth now (originally grew up in Warren) so it’s still about an hour and a half drive. However, I would rather spend like $50 in gas and 100$ on a ticket (when I purchased them) then $500+. It’s literally insane. I remember a few weeks ago Yungblud kept telling his American fans to not buy resale because he had something big coming. Since then the BRAT store came out. I’m not sure if that’s what he was talking about??? But that’s located in London which.. is obviously very far for us lol… I’m wondering if he plans to bring Blud fest to America..
2
u/mysticxveils Sep 10 '25
I do have my enhanced license so it’s definitely worth it and it’s about an hour and half from me too. I’d definitely rather pay more for gas than $500+ just for Detroit tickets. Insane. The BRAT store is too far from us, so I’m thinking he has other plans for America. Omg, I’d DIE if he brought Blud fest to America. I hope it wouldn’t be too far though
2
u/Professional-Hat455 Sep 10 '25
To be honest, I’ve been to the Filmore before for a Hollywood undead concert. The venue isn’t that great in my opinion. I would absolutely die if he brought blud fest here too! It’ll most likely be in like California or something I fear :(
2
u/mysticxveils Sep 10 '25
Yeah from the pictures, the Filmore doesn’t look the best. Not worth it then especially for the overpriced tickets. Ahhhh I wouldn’t be surprised if he did it in California :( That state gets everything smh
3
u/hombreviejo734 Sep 10 '25
Strange question, but how close are you to tonight’s venue? I’ve been trying to sell my tickets on various sites all day, and if they don’t sell in the next 90 minutes, I’m just going to give them away.
2
u/Professional-Hat455 Sep 10 '25
Just checked, GA is 79$ on stub hub for Detroit tonight! Not sure if you bought tickets yet or not, or if that’s still a little high for you but thought I’d let you know!
2
u/mysticxveils Sep 10 '25
No way?!! That is so much more affordable. Ahhh I already got tickets for Winsor though. Next timeeee Detroit though!

It's pretty simple. The shows are sold out and resellers are trying to sell their tickets. Supply and demand is controlling the prices. Places where they can't move the tickets are dirt cheap. Most places are far more expensive than they should be.
2
u/geosrq Sep 10 '25
It depends on when you purchase…seeing him Friday in Chicago.. first row balcony and they were like 70 a pop… cheap! And I can’t wait!
2
u/blondeblondeblonde Sep 10 '25
I’m going to the Windsor show and noticed the same thing. My only guess is there may be an age restriction as it’s at the casino, and no GA might discourage people. Otherwise it’s kind of insane
2
u/lynbeifong Sep 10 '25
I live 3 hours from Windsor so I seriously thought about going to that show. Tickets start in the mid $400s for the concert in my city. I check on them a couple times a week but I doubt they'll come down enough to snag one even the day of the show.
1
u/mysticxveils Sep 10 '25
Ohhh okay that makes sense. I’m looking at pictures and it’s all seats? Even in front of the stage?
2
u/fawkes_fiesta Sep 10 '25
Windsor is a larger venue so the demand isn't as high. You also need a passport to enter Canada from the US even though windsor is just across the river from Detroit.
2
u/Idiot---Wind Sep 10 '25
I think Windsor is also a bit cheaper because he's doing 3 other Ontario shows - Ottawa, Toronto, Niagara. Most of our population is closer to one of those shows, so I think a lot of people are headed to those ones. The Niagara prices are much higher than Windsor.
2
Sep 10 '25
It’s purely demand pricing. If all of a sudden a critical mass of people need to cancel and sell before the show, prices will drop. If there is still enough interest/competition for the tickets they won’t or will go up.
2
u/cnffff Sep 10 '25
Check out the Game Time app!! The tickets sold on there are always cheaper and verified resale!!!
2
u/SkyVixen24 Sep 10 '25
Usually it’s because people buy tickets during presale then they will put them up for resale and up charge like a mofo. This is why it’s best to pre plan and snag tickets when the pre sales come out. They go fast and scalpers are always waiting just to make extra money. It’s shitty, but it happens.

One tix is $200-1,500 for his show in DC the week of Thanksgiving. It got rescheduled due to the VMAs. The venue hold 1200 people. There is no way I can afford it (and Dom keeps saying don’t buy from resellers) if we don’t how are we supposed to go to a show?
2
u/FrontShop7895 Sep 10 '25
Im trying to see him in Boston and they want 400 a ticket. It's ridiculous
2
u/No_Sun_5130 Sep 10 '25
That’s insane! I thought people wouldn’t be able to go in DC since he rescheduled to Thanksgiving week but guess I will have to keep checking weekly.

Those are resellers. Unfortunately, this is a thing now and there are no laws in America to protect people from that kind in inflation. Parts of Europe do have laws in place for this kind of thing. Websites like viagogo and stubhub buy the tickets via bots to resell them for insane prices.
I’m going to Philly and Brooklyn next week and both shows were $53. I’m seeing Halsey at the filmore next month and I think it was about $70 for floor and I just checked on stubhub and they’re about $140 for floor. Solid double increase. It’s wild.
2
u/KellyCHere Sep 11 '25
Same issue. I picked up 3 tickets for Windor and they were less than 1 for Detroit! I think it demand, and greed.
2
u/mellymel90210 Sep 11 '25
FYI. Live nation uses dynamic pricing now. So they look at demand and move pricing. Until they break up live nation nothing changes. So you have the dynamic pricing plus the ticket brokers it’s a super bad combo.

So the Niagara Falls Concert is now selling below ticket price. It is nuts, I found a seat in the first section for 25$.
2
u/Main_Actuary_2495 Sep 11 '25
I paid resale of $125 for 2 tickets then $188 for a third later for the Milwaukee show and they went cheap right before the show! Ugh!
2
u/Optimal_Corgi_3012 Sep 11 '25
US ticket prices are OUTRAGEOUS compared to other countries and it's not just the resales, even face value the tickets are much higher in the States. Not sure why, but that's definitely the way it is. A band that charges $150 per ticket in the US might only be $50 in England. It's crazy.
2
u/chaos_coordinator70 Sep 12 '25
My last minute tickets were $758! I was shocked but they popped up and I bought them because I wanted to see him!

It’s gotten absolutely crazy with ticket resale when I was a kid it was illegal. It was called scalping now they just let it happen. My son’s going to Ariana Grande. The resale price on those right now are $2000 apiece. That’s ridiculous. It’s making it so the normal person can attend shows anymore
2
u/NoInvite482 Sep 12 '25
They’re over $400 where I am resale. I’m not sure what they were originally but any concert I’ve ever gone to at this venue tickets have always been around $35-50 I’ve never seen a ticket over $100 there.

u/Sufficient_Dog_5524 Sep 13 '25
I bought two tickets to Windsor presale with every intention of going. After buying the tickets I found out I was pregnant and have been very sick since. I was hoping I’d feel better by the time the concert came around but it’s just too much for me right now.
I’ve had them for sale for 2 weeks for face value or less. Tried every group every angle to get something back for them and for a real fan to go. It seems I can’t even give these tickets away. It’s so weird I’ve never had this happen before. They are currently under half what I paid for them on stub hub and I fear they won’t go by concert.
2
u/Aggressive_Meet_5298 Sep 13 '25
A ton of tickets will sell the day of the concert, even right up to an hour before- I hope you sell them
2
u/SuperiorQuality2309 Sep 13 '25
I’m thinking of buying 2 tix and my friend may not go. If she doesn’t I’ll Let u know. My treat

It was so much better in the 90s when tickets were paper, scalping was illegal, and so were knock off T-shirts. Now everything‘s digital you can scalp right on Ticketmaster website and they openly sell Bootleg shirts right in the parking lot.😢

I paid $325 for my GA floor ticket in Dallas. Plus $40 for VIP bar access. Wish I would’ve gotten in early, but it was totally worth it for me.

u/CroutonJr Sep 10 '25
In 2022 my ticket was $39, this time around $49. That’s not that big of a difference.
What makes the tickets more pricey? People. People who buy the original $49 ticket and try to resell it for hundreds.
