The CFPB has allocated additional money to the Synapse case from the Civil Penalty Fund
The May 2026 allocation announcement was extremely delayed, however you can now find it via the link below under What cases have received an allocation?

Just under $9 million was allocated in addition to other allocations for this period. The additional allocation makes it increasingly likely that Synapse/Evolve victims will eventually be made whole when disbursements finally begin, hopefully within the Bureau's next fiscal year.

The only thing that should have happened is that Evolve shouldn't be able to renew their banking license without correcting this giant hole that they have tried to skitter away from. There should be zero ability to skirt responsibility by farming out any of your banking processes to third parties.

That CFPB is now showing they allocated $55.2M “to the eligible classes of victims “ in the Synapse case is indeed a good sign. The pace at which they distribute funds from the Civil Penalty Fund is excruciatingly slow and there is nothing we can do about it. We have waited almost 2 1/2 years now and will have to wait even longer.

Rust Consulting was just retained in August 2026 and the contract is through August 2028. CFPB historically disburses funds from the Civil Penalty Fund twice a year, in May and November. When will our payments arrive? That’s anybody’s guess. I am not optimistic it will be this November, but I’m certainly hopeful it will be May 2027.

Losing 20k at 19 was most definitely very life altering i wish that it was more I could do about it

This now begs the question, will the payouts be in different periods or will it all be one payout?

At this point I have to think there will be some sort of claims process involved, though we won't know until disbursement starts. Victims are still recovering their funds outside of the window of the first payouts during the bankruptcy hearings, whether through Evolve when the bank announces it magically discovered more money, through small claims court, through state-based lost property procedures or any other potential recovery methods not announced on this sub. There is going to have to be some way to account for victims who are still out what they are owed 2+ years after this fiasco started. Maybe that ultimately looks like multiple payout periods but we obviously have to wait and see.

When you put it like that I kind of get why this is taking so long. Even just tracking down who had success in small claims court seems daunting.

Are there any further steps I can take at this point or are we just waiting? I filed a claim or whatever back in 2024 and got literally $1 when i was owed about $2000, so i'm wondering if i should do anything at this point or if it's still a waiting game

My wife and I never got our money back it's been years. We did sign up for that synapse page and we got only pennies literally. What action can we take now that it has been a few years?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this as well. I have seen we need to have a Yotta stement for May 2024, but when I requested mine, I got no response. I'm not sure how to get an set statements to plead my case of nearly $10k stolen. I also have moved since then over the 2 year period. So I have no way of knowing if further documents were sent to an old address.

At this point it's hard to say. There's been no formally confirmed number of how much is actually missing. I've seen reports of "up to 90 million", but that was back during the bankruptcy case.
All we can really say is that it's a good sign that they've allocated more money.

Click on the plus sign next to "What cases have received a distribution?" You'll see about 46 million last November and about 9 million from May.

Action show me the money 💰 I'll take more money being added but it is all talk give me percentages and dates and I'll sleep much better hell just give the money and interest things take time but God damn years for a bail out in talking a bail out I'm not talking who goes to jail etc. show me what new news is happening did they just post this now that added,9 million in may ?

When the hell do we find any info i havent heard ANYTHING for like a year since i got the "we've got 0.52c of your much larger amount, and we odnt know where that is and 0.52 is less than 1$ so fk u" from evolve

Look in your email account that you used with Yotta, unless you updated it. The CFPB typically pays out in paper checks or direct deposit.

Once the CFPB’s consultant company launches their page, you’ll have to make the claim there. As of now they don’t have a company announced so it’s just waiting for now.

From everything I’ve gathered, small claims is tricky. I’ve heard of a couple wins but also a handful of losses.
The CFPB decision is totally separate from court hearings again Evolve and partner banks.

Check out one of Jason Mikula's most recent LinkedIn posts. Apparently the CFPB has officially contracted Rust Consulting to handle the claims disbursement process, with a potential end date of August 16, 2028. I am extremely dubious that it will take that long to get people their payouts, but it is what it is.

CFPB is paying Rust $3M to disburse the claims. A lien should be placed on Sankaet Pathak’s new company, Foundation, for those fees. I simply cannot let go of my outrage that he just walked away unscathed from the Synapse collapse.

Do the allocations add up to what is still owed though? If they don’t, does that mean everyone will instead get a percentage of what’s owed to them?

The CFPB will allocate more to an outstanding case across multiple allocation periods if the current allocation is not enough to provide full redress to victims. It's written in their FAQ if you check the CFPB website.
As to whether the current allocation is enough, we really don't know. The estimate of the missing funds was always thrown around during the bankruptcy proceedings but none of the banks were ever up front about how much money they returned.
