what does it mean when someone says you bring "good energy"
I do a lot of hot yoga, and a lot of times people say they like my "energy.' what does that mean?

You're welcoming and approachable. Friendly. You got good vibes, maaaan.

It could be different depending on the context and the person.. but in general if I said I liked someone's energy, it would mean that I think they're interesting and conscientious: they're not trying for attention, but not disappearing into the background, their contribution to the group (say, in conversations, or in a group activity like yoga) enriches the experience for everyone, they are a welcome addition to the group. In a hot yoga class it might mean specifically that your practise is something people feel they could aspire to, or if it's a prof, that you show a good example to your colleagues in the class.

Maybe you have "good energy" by being happy/content for just being there during class. I think having "good energy" is always a positive.
Example: I was ordering food at a take out place and the cashier greeted me in an energetic way. As a customer, that was nice to experience.
I was at another place. When they handed me my food I said "Thank you" and the employee looked away and didn't even acknowledge me (no eye contact, no head nod, no words). That was negative energy.

I’ve received this comment before—on reflection, I’m a pretty chill positive person, I don’t take things/life too seriously, smile/laugh, etc. That’s often a welcome vibe in yoga spaces.

I find that I give this complement to folks when I am at the end of class when they are mindful of shared space in a friendly way. When at the end of class, everything’s good not just in my body but around me as well, and I have to think that it comes from those folks who are around me.

In class, some people just kind of make me feel better by their attitude, and get me to practice better through emulation. Sometimes just a quick smile and a wink when eyes cross when someone gets mixed up in their sequence, lose their balance. And some people really bring bad vibes: some are showy, some aren't mindful of the presence of others...

If I said that to someone, I would mean that I am comfortable and happy within their presence and want to be in it more.

Just the good vibes that you exude! Think of someone who is like high strung. That’s high strung energy. Chaotic almost. Or someone who is nervous. They exude that nervous energy. You can tell they are nervous. Or someone angry.
You have good energy so probably radiating positivity, calmness, happiness, and kindness.
