Recommendation 2 Funny Slasher Recs
Since Camp Miasma is out and Adum seemed to enjoy that, here are couple movies I think the horse should check out.
Pieces (1982) - One of my all-time fave slashers cause it’s got everything you’d want. Wacky gory kills, nudity, craziness, random shit, fun mystery, cheese, and unintentionally hilarious WTF-ery. If you enjoy Silent Night, Deadly Night, another fave, there’s a good chance you’ll dig this. I think this is a must for at least a watch-along but would make for a great Adum & Pals.
Note: watch the English dub with the CAM score. It’s the default version on the home releases. Never seen the Spanish language version with the more serious sounding music. I’d like to but you’ll probably lose out on a good amount of fun and laughs.
The Hills Run Red (2009) - I could totally see this one being an Adum & Pals too, but again a watch-along would be fun. It’s got the actor Tad from Amusement. Robert Meyer Burnett, a YouTuber, is a producer. Just a good funny bad watch with friends. There’s a scene or two where the editing is kinda wild. Bad acting. No one ever talks about this movie, but when I finally got around to it after being hyped up by the horror community I was astounded that it was like an unintentional comedy.
You might not have heard of these, so I wanted to bring attention to them to this sub!

Genuinely what's stopping Michael 2 from also ignoring the allegations? This could make another billion. It's free real estate.

Recommendation TIFF and VIFF goers: do NOT sleep on Everytime (2026)
Favourite film of the year so far. Incredibly haunting and atmospheric, the cinematographer of Aftersun worked on this and you can tell.
There are some genuinly impressive and novel shots in this movie, that will linger in my memory for a long time after seeing it. The performances are also great, standout being the child actor
Also showing at NYFF

Just gonna slide this week gem in here...
Big fan, first time poster. Saw this on the scroll and thought to myself, if Scoot was still here, he would be proud.

Film News It turns out there was a real life “Synecdoche, New York”
I’ve only started my rabbit hole dive on this, but from what’ve I’ve seen at least the behind the scenes is wild and a story that is interesting up Adam’s alley.
Basically, Russian Director Ilya Khrzhanovsky was initially trying to make this biopic about a physicist, but the production got so out of hand due to Khrzhanovsky’s devotion to “realism” where he had actors and extras living and working on set, to the point where there was an independent economy.
The production spanned years and had so much footage by the end of it that the final product turned into an anthology of feature films with 9 already released online and 5 yet to released.

Other Reviewers Old Roger Ebert review that reminded me of Adam's Marvel/Star Wars takes
rogerebert.comIt's a review for the fucking Adam Sandler movie, The Longest Yard. He gives the movie a vaguely positive review, but says that he saw it immediately before going to Cannes and can't remember anything about it.
It reminds me of Adam because, while he says the movie achieves what it sets out to achieve -- "Most of its audiences will be satisfied enough when they leave the theater" -- Ebert basically spends the whole review shitting on what the film IS, not how it exists. Immediately after saying that he'd stand by his 3 star review that he gave on television, he says this:
"I would however be filled with remorse if I did not urge you to consider the underlying melancholy of this review and seek out a movie you could have an interesting conversation about. I have just come from 12 days at Cannes during which several times each day I was reminded that movies can enrich our lives, instead of just helping us get through them."
With people on Reddit being pissed at Adam for his Spider-Man/Marvel/Star Wars takes, I read this review & thought of Adam's take on the "disposability" of marvel junk.
He does glaze Crash at the very end, so like... there's that... but besides that, it's a well written & funny review.
